Bon tricot!

I'm using dpns; do not understand "back and forth on needle"; can only go "around". What am I misinterprettng?
20.10.2021 - 13:41DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Davis, you will now work in rows (not in round anymore), ie at the end of last round, instead of working next stitch (= first stich of the round), cast one 1 stitch for seam allowance, turn and work from WS (= purling all stitches) to the end of the row casting on 1 more st for seam allowance and continue like this in rows, either on the dpn or on a circular needle as you like. Happy knitting!

When piece measures 21 cm split and work back and forth on needle and inc. 1 st for side seam. That I understand. When piece measuees 23 cast off 5 sts each side. Ok. Did that. But when we put both legs on needle, do I pick up those cast off sts or just leave the gap there if not picked up?
01.04.2016 - 20:51DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Albert, just work all sts from both legs, you will sew afterwards the split on inside of legs then the opening between legs from mid front to mid back - see also video below. Happy knitting!
