We are now sending the new fall/winter catalogs to our DROPS dealers. They are printed in a limited edition and and each catalog costs only 1£/$2 over the counter and 2£/$4 by mail order. DROPS fall/winter 09/10 collection is very varied. From fine to heavy, garments with texture and patterned. Jackets, sweaters, ponchos, shawls and lots of accessories. The designs are chosen on the basis of an overall assessment, where voting results and accompanying comments have been important.

Gauge: 20 sts x 26 rows on larger needles in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm [4" x 4"].

Garter st, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows.

Back: Cast on 74-82-88-94 (100-104-110) sts on smaller needles and knit 4 rows garter st. Change to larger needles and stockinette st. When the work measures 24-26-28-31 (32-33-34) cm [9.5" - 10.25" - 11" - 12.25" (12-5/8" - 13" - 13-3/8")] bind off for armhole at each side every other row: 3 sts 2 times, 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 2-2-2-2 (2-2-4) times = 54-62-68-74 (80-84-86) sts. When the work measures 35-38-41-45 (47-49-51) cm [13.75" - 14-7/8" - 16-1/8" - 17.75" (18.5" - 19.25" - 20")] bind off the center 22-24-24-26 (26-28-28) sts and then bind off at each neck edge 2 sts 1 time. Bind off when the work measures 37-40-43-47 (49-51-53) cm [14.5" - 15.75" - 16-7/8" - 18.5" (19.25" - 20" - 20-7/8")].

Front: Cast on 74-82-88-94 (100-104-110) sts on smaller needles and knit 4 rows garter st. Change to larger needles, purl 1 row (wrong side), increasing 10-10-14-14 (14-14-14) sts evenly distributed over the center 20-20-40-40 (40-40-40) sts = 84-92-102-108 (114-118-124) sts. On the next row (right side) establish pattern over the center 32-32-52-52 (52-52-52) sts as follows: Pattern 2 - Pattern 2 - Pattern 1 -Pattern 1 (Pattern 1 - Pattern 1 - Pattern 1) with stockinette st at each side and knit Pattern as established until the work measures 24-26-28-31 (32-33-34) cm [9.5" - 10.25" - 11" - 12.25" (12-5/8" - 13" - 13-3/8")]. Bind off for armholes at each side every other row: 3 sts 2 times, 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 2-2-2-2 (2-2-4) times = 64-72-82-88 (94-98-100) sts. When the work measures 33-36-38-42 (44-46-47) cm [13" - 14-1/8" - 14-7/8" - 16.5" (17.25" - 18-1/8" - 18.5")], K 2 tog across the center 26-28-32-34 (34-36-36) sts, then on the next row bind off the center 13-14-16-17 (17-18-18) sts. Bind off at each neck edge every other row: 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 3 times. Bind off when the work measures 37-40-43-47 (49-51-53) cm [14.5" - 15.75" - 16-7/8" - 18.5" (19.25" - 20" - 20-7/8")].

Sleeve: Cast on 34-34-36-38 (40-42-42) sts on smaller double pointed needles; join and knit 4 rows garter st. Change to larger needles and stockinette st. When the work measures 5 cm [2"], inc 1 st each side of marker 9-11-12-13 (14-15-17) times:
Sizes 2 + 3/4 + 5/6: alternately every 4th and 5th row
Sizes 7/8 + 9/10 + 11/12 + 13/14: every 5th row
= 52-56-60-64 (68-72-76) sts. When the work measures 23-26-29-32 (36-39-42) cm [9" - 10.25" - 11-3/8" - 12-5/8" (14-1/8" - 15.25" - 16.5")] bind off 3 sts each side of marker and knit the rest of the work back and forth on the needles. Bind off at each side for sleeve caps every other row: 1-1-1-2 (2-2-2) sts 8 times, 3 sts 2 times, bind off. The work measures approx. 31-34-37-40 (44-47-50) cm [12.25" - 13-3/8" - 14.5" - 15.75" (17.25" - 18.5" - 19.75")].

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx. 70-100 sts around the neck on smaller double pointed needles; join and knit 6 rows stockinette stitch, bind off and let the neck edge roll. Sew the side seams. Sew in the sleeves.
