Continue in Rib, K4/P2, for 2½’]. Remember the knitting gauge! Now insert a Marking Thread (MT) in the first st at beg of round (= mid back) and continue in stockinette st and stripes – see above. Dec as follows:
Size 5/6½: Continue without dec.
Size 7½/9: dec 1 st on both sides of MT when piece measures 3½” and then again at 6.2’’.

Insert a MT on either side of the 24-24-26 sts mid upper foot and continue in stockinette st. At the same time dec each side of heel as follows: K2 tog into back of st before the 24-24-26 sts on upper foot and K2 tog after the 24-24-26 sts on every other round a total of 8-8-8 times = 38-40-44 sts. Continue until piece measures 7”-8”-8.7” from MT in heel and now insert a MT each side with 19-20-22 sts on upper foot and 19-20-22 sts under foot. Continue in stockinette st, at the same time dec 1 st on both sides of each MT on every other round a total of 5-5-6 times and then on every round a total of 2-2-2 times as follows: Before 1 st and MT: K2 tog, after MT and 1 st: K2 tog into back of st = 10-12-12 sts left on round. On next round K tog all sts 2 by 2. Cut the thread, pull through remaining sts and fasten.
