Knitting gauge: 25 sts x 32 rows stockinette sts with 2 threads = 10 x 10 cm [4’’ x 4’’]

Pattern: See diagram M.1. Diagrams are seen from RS.

Heel decrease:
1st row (= RS): Knit until 8-9-11 sts remain, slip next sts as if to knit, P1, psso, turn piece.
2nd row (=WS): Knit until 8-9-11 sts remain, slip next sts as if to knit, K1, psso, turn piece.
3rd row (= RS): Knit until 7-8-10 sts remain, slip next sts as if to knit, P1, psso, turn piece.
4th row (=WS): Knit until 7-8-10 sts remain, slip next sts as if to knit, K1, psso, turn piece.
Continue dec in same way, by knitting until there is 1 sts less left before slipping 1 sts as if to knit, until 13-14-16 sts remain on row.

SOCK
Knit in the round on double pointed needles.
Cast on 72-80-84 sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm [US 1] with 2 threads Alpaca. K 1 round. Continue in Rib as follows:
Size 35/37: * K3, P3 *, repeat from *-*.
Size 38/40: * K3, P2 *, repeat from *-*.
Size 41/43: * P3, K3 *, repeat from *-*.
When Rib measures approx 3 cm [1 1/8’’] continue as follows:
Sizes 6½/7½ – 7½/8½: * M.1 (= 3 sts), 9-7 P *, repeat from *-* 6-8 times.
Size 8½/9½ : * P3, M.1 (= 3 sts), P6 *, repeat from *-* 7 times in total (P3 in begining of round and P6 at end of round, counted as 1 P part = 9 P).
M.1 is now placed exactly under 3 K from Rib.
Continue until rib measures 6 cm [2 3/8’’]. Now dec 1 sts on every other row of P-part (Size 41/43:. Dec in 6 P at end of round) = 66-72-77 sts. Repeat dec when piece measures 12 cm [4 3/4’’] (size 8½/9½: Dec in 3 P at begining of round) and 18 cm [7’’] (size 8½/9½: Dec in 5 P at end of round) = 54-56-63 sts. Split piece when measure 21-23-25 cm [8 ¼”-9”-9 ¾”].
Now keep first 15-20-17 sts on round, slip next 27-26-27 sts onto 1 thread or stitch holder (= mid top of foot) and keep remaining 12-10-19 sts on needle = 27-30-36 sts for heel.
Knit stockinette sts with WS out back and forth over heel sts for 5-5.5-6 cm [2”-2 ¼”-2 3/8”]. Now dec for heel – see Heel decrease.
After heel dec pick up 12-13-14 sts on each side of heel and slip the 27-26-27 sts from thread or stich holder back onto needle = 64-66-71 sts. Continue with pattern as before over middle 27-26-27 sts. Stockinette sts remaining sts with WS out. At the same time dec on each side as follows: P2 first sts before 27-26-27 sts on top of foot tog and P2 first sts after 27-26-27 sts on top of foot tog. Dec like this on every other row 8-7-7 times in total = 48-52-57 sts. Continue until piece measures 18-19-21 cm [7”-7½”-8¼”] measured from heel edge. Insert 1 marking thread or stitch holder on each side so 27-26-31 sts are left on top of the foot and 21-26-31 sts underneath the foot. Continue in stockinette sts on all sts at the same time dec for toe on both sides of marking thread or stitch marker.
Dec as follows: K 2 sts tog, marking thread or stitch marker, K 2 sts into back of sts (i.e knit into back of sts in stead of into front of sts).
Dec like this on each side on every other row 4-6-8 times in total and then on every round 5-4-3 times = 12-12-13 sts left on needle.
On next round knit all sts tog 2 by 2.
Cut yarn and pull it through remaining sts, pull tog and sew away ends.
