Hi Kathy, The chart reads from bottom right to left when working on the right side and then left to right when working back from the wrong side. So the first row is K5, P2, K6, P2, K6, P2 and K5. Working back from the wrong side and from the left of the chart, row 2 is K3, P2, K2, P6,K2, P6, K2, P2 and K3. Then row 3 is from the right, K5, P2, place 3 stitches on the cable needle behind the piece, K3 and then K3 from the cable needle, P2, place 3 stitches on the cable needle in front of the piece, K3 and then K3 from the cable needle, P2 and K6. I hope this helps and happy knitting!

What weight is this yarn
24.02.2018 kl. 00:57:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Donna, for this pattern, we use DROPS Eskimo yarn, which has about 50 meters in a 50 gramm skein, and knits up to about 11 stitches x 15 rows for 10 cm x 10 cm. That would but it into the chunky/ bluky category. Since everone knits differently, please always make a trial piece - a swatch- and check your gauge, and adjust accordingly. Happy Crafting!

Hi Amy, US size 11/12 is 42-43 in Euro size so you will need to cast on two more stitches than in size 40/42 to fit your size. Happy knitting!

1. I've watched the video for the Little Red Riding Hood Slippers, but it starts after you have a circle. Can you show how to start this pattern from the beginning? 2. I have 2 straight double-sided needles, but it looks like you're using 4 on the video. Do I need to get some more? 3. Can you explain what this means in the foot pattern: Continue in garter st back and forth over the 9-11-11 sts - AT THE SAME TIME? Thank you.
03.01.2018 kl. 16:10:DROPS Design answered:
Hi Amy, Yes you need four or five double sided needles to work in the round, then divide the stitches onto the 3/4 needles and use the last needle to work with. When working the foot, you work back and forth over the stitches in garter stitch and (at the same time) on the first row you increase 1 new stitch in each side for edge stitches. We use AT THE SAME TIME in our patterns when things need to be worked concurrently. Hope this helps and happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

Dear Monica, you will find sizes (US and European size + foot length in cm and inch) at the right side of the picture. Numbers to cast on are in the same order, ie for 2nd size, cast on 38 sts for leg and follow 2nd number all the way - for larger size, cast on 40 sts (= 3rd number) and follow 3rd number all the way.

Dear Mrs Swaan, in larger size you work over the 11 inc to 13 sts for upper foot until piece measures 10 cm ie 4". Happy knitting!

Dear Pam, we use here in the video a dpn to pick up sts along left side of upper foot, then work these sts with 1st dpn, where sts from toe are- then knit the remaining sts from thread - and pick up first sts with the dpn then knit them with the last dpn - distribute your sts as you feel it is easiest for you. Dear Mrs Purdy, these slippers are worked on the basis of a tension of 13 sts x 17 rows in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm - if you get this tension, you just have to measure piece when working garter st. you will then decrease for under foot a total of 4 sts every other round until piece measures 5-6 cm from where all sts have been worked in the round (starting when it measures 2 cm).

Buon lavoro!

Dear Mrs Johnson, you first work the "ankle" part, then the top of foot. Pick up then sts on both side of the top of foot and continue in the round for sole. Work afterwards the cable around the leg, this edge will be sewn over the first rows of the leg part. Happy knitting!

11.01.2014 kl. 05:13:DROPS Design answered:
Merkkilangat kiinnitetään kärjen keksimmäiseen silmukkaan ja kantapään keskimmäiseen silmukkaan. Neuletihehys on 17 krs/10 cm, joten 5 cm on n. 8-9 kerrosta (eli n. 4-5 kavennuskerrosta).
