Si le fil a le même échantillon/la même tension, il est facile de le remplacer par un autre.

Suivez la même tension qu'indiqué dans le modèle – rappelez-vous que la taille des aiguilles n'est donnée qu'à titre indicatif, adaptez la taille des aiguilles si besoin. Vous trouverez ici plus d'infos sur la tension

1 fil par 2 fils ou plus:

Les fils DROPS sont filés de sorte que les épaisseurs des fils pourront s'assortir les uns les autres.
En tricotant avec plus d'un fil d'un groupe de fils, vous trouverez facilement des modèles d'autres groupes de fils - (découvrez les groupes de fils ici) ou bien consultez nos suggestions (découvrez ici les associations de fils recommandées).

Voici une liste de fils qui peuvent facilement inter-changés parmi les groupes de fils::

Dans les modèles DROPS, on écrit ainsi: A + A = C

La quantité de fil doit être ajustée quand on remplace:

1 fil par 1 autre.

Quand on remplace un fil, la quantité requise doit être également ajustée, car le métrage d'une pelote (50 g = X mètres) varie d'un fil à l'autre – voir le calcul ci-dessous:

Pour un modèle, on a besoin de 300 g du fil-X
On a besoin du métrage pour pouvoir calculer la quantité du fil-Y dont vous aurez besoin.

Fil-X: 50 g = 170 mètres
Quantité totale requise: 6 pelotes x 170 mètres = 1020 mètres

Fil-Y: 50 g = 150 mètres

Nombre total de mètres requis en Fil-X = 1020 mètres
divisé par le nombre de mètres du fil-Y = 6.8 pelotes

Résultat:
7 pelotes = 350 g du Fil-Y
remplacent
6 pelotes = 300 g du Fil-X.

1 fil par 2 fils avec le même métrage.

Voici un exemple qui montre comment calculer la quantité nécessaire quand on remplace 1 fil DROPS Snow (Fil du groupe E) par 2 fils DROPS Air (Fil du groupe C) - voir calcul ci-dessous:

Le modèle requiert 1150 g DROPS Snow.
On a besoin du métrage pour re-calculer:

DROPS Snow: 50 g = 50 mètres
Quantité totale requise: 23 pelotes x 50 mètres = 1150 mètres

DROPS Air: 50 g = environ 150 mètres

Nombre de mètres requis en DROPS Snow = 1150 mètres
divisé par le nombre de mètres d'une pelote DROPS Air = 7.67 pelotes.

On va tricoter avec 2 fils au lieu d'2 seul, il faudra par conséquent multiplier le nombre de pelotes par 2: 7.67 x 2 = 16 pelotes

Résultat:
1150 g DROPS Snow
peuvent être remplacés par
800 g DROPS Air

2 fils de métrage différents par 1 fil.

Voici comment calculer la quantité requise si on veut utiliser 1 seul fil dans un modèle qui en utilise 2.
Exemple: 1 fil DROPS BabyAlpaca Silk (groupe de fils A) et 1 fil DROPS Kid-Silk (groupe de fils A)
à remplacer par:
1 fil DROPS AIR (du groupe de fils C)

Le modèle indique:
300 g DROPS BabyAlpaca-Silk et 125 g DROPS Kid-Silk
(= 2 fils du groupe de fils A)

Recalculer ainsi:
1 fil DROPS Air (groupe de fils C)
On a besoin du métrage pour pouvoir recalculer.:

DROPS BabyAlpaca-Silk: 50 g = 167 mètres,
Total requis: 6 pelotes x 167 mètres = 1002 mètres

DROPS Kid-Silk: 25 g = 200 mètres
Total requis: 5 pelotes x 200 mètres = 1000 mètres

Alternative:
DROPS AIR: 50 g = 150 mètres

Commencer par le fil qui a le métrage le plus court = 1000 mètres
Et le diviser par le nombre de mètres d'une pelote DROPS Air:
1000 mètres divisés par 150 mètres = 6.7 pelotes, donc: 7 pelotes

Résultat:
300 g DROPS BabyAlpaca-Silk
125 g DROPS Kid-Silk
peuvent être remplacés par:
350 g DROPS Air

Dear Mrs Buerbaum, if you use only 1 strand Fabel, your tension will not match as this pattern is worked with 2 yarns and a tension of 15 sts x 17 rows. Your store can help you (even per mail or telephone) finding the best matching colour Brushed Alpaca Silk (or any other yarn alternative) matching the Fabel colour you like to use. Bruk av 2 tråder av garn fra garngruppe B gir samme strikkefasthet som 1 tråd fra garngruppe D (B+B= D). Dear Gigi, unfortunately, some yarns are only released for a season or a few seasons and then discontinued. We will usually try to have some alternatives available. In this case, you can substitute it with DROPS Andes or DROPS Snow or 2 threads of DROPS Air. You can also contact DROPS stores to check if they have any stock of the desired color available. We always recommend to buy the full amount of yarn for a specific project since there may be some stock issues or different lot numbers later, which will result in color variations of the project that may look weird. Hei Linn. Det kommer an på hvilken str. du ønsker å strikke. I f.eks str. L trenger du 350 gram Air farge 02, hvete (farge A) = 7 nøster (1 nøste = ca 150 m) = 7 x 150 m = 1050 m, og 100 gram Air farge 39, magenta (farge B) = 2 nøster = 2 x 150 m = 300 m. Så i Alpaca trenger du 1050 meter i farge A og 300 m i farge B. 1 nøste i Alpaca = 167 m. Ta den totale løpelengden i farge A og del det på løpelengden i Alpaca garn = 1050/167 = 6,3 = du trenger 7 nøster av Alpaca). Løpelengden i farge B 300/167 = 1,8 = 2 nøster i farge B. Dear TJ, DROPS Puna is a group B yarn while DROPS Alaska is a group C yarn. The thread thickness is different so their gauge is different and you can't use them for the same pattern instructions; you would need to wholly recalculate the pattern, as indicated in this lesson: https://www.garnstudio.com/lesson.php?id=25&cid=19. That's why we recommend choosing a pattern from the same yarn group to adapt to your yarn, where the calculations are easier. Happy knitting!

Bonjour Mme Gourhand, vous pouvez probablement, mais il va vous falloir bien échantillonner auparavant pour vérifier votre tension en largeur mais aussi en hauteur et si la texture vous convient également, car elle sera automatiquement plus serrée/dense qu'avec 1 fil Merino Extra Fine. Bon tricot!

Dear Karen, 1 thread of group D yarn (like Melody) can be replaced by 3 threads of Group A yarn or 1 thread of a Group C yarn and 1 thread of a Group A yarn. However, due to the specific composition of Melody, even this substitution will not fully fit; a yarn less hairy than Melody may show more holes when worked in the same way, for example. Also, take into account that pure wool threads will hardly ever have a pure white tone; the whiter color in natural fibers is usually off-white. So you may find pure white threads in cotton or acrylic yarns but it's more difficult to find natural wool with pure white color. Happy knitting!
