GARTER ST (worked in the round):
* K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*.

Worked in the round on double pointed needles size 8 mm. Loosely cast on 64 sts with 1 thread of each colour and work 4 rounds in garter st - see explanation above. Then work in stocking st until piece measures 17 cm. On next round, insert a marker at beg of round and work as follows: * Work 6 sts, K the next 2 sts tog *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 56 sts (= 8 dec sts). Move the marker upwards when working. Then work 1 round in stocking st. Repeat dec of 8 sts on round like this by K the next 2 sts tog after every 5, 4, 3 sts etc. on every other round until 8 sts remain on round. Cut the threads and pull them through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten.
