GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows.
1st row (= RS): * K 1, 2 YO *, repeat from *-* and finish with K 1.
2nd row (= WS): K while slipping the YOs off the needle (= long sts).
3rd + 4th row: K all sts.
Repeat row 1 to 4.
MEASURING TIP: Because of pattern the piece must be held up when measured.
Loosely cast on 20 sts on 2 needles size 5.5 mm with Vivaldi (to make the cast on edge more elastic). Pull out one needle and work 4 rows in garter st. Then continue with PATTERN - see explanation above - until scarf measures approx. 140 cm - read MEASURING TIP. Work 4 rows in garter st and then loosely cast off - make 1 YO after every st when casting off to make the cast off edge elastic (cast off YOs as sts), piece measures approx. 142 cm.
Work on hook size 4 mm with Vivaldi along both short sides as follows:
ROW 1: 1 dc in 1st st, 4 ch, 2 dtr in same st, * 1 ch, 3 dtr in next st *, repeat from *-*, turn piece.
ROW 2: 5 ch, 9 dtr in first ch from previous row, 1 ch, * 9 dtr in next ch, 1 ch *, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 dtr in 4th ch from beg of previous row.
