NOTE: This pattern is written in British English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inches - click here. Knitting tension: 23 sts x 30 rows on needle size 3.5 mm and stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm Remember needle sizes are guidelines only! See NB!!! under size.

Pattern: * K4, P4 *, repeat from *-*.

Body:
Knit jacket back and forth on circular needles. Cast on 262 (278-294) sts (includes 2 edge sts) on circular needles size 3.5 mm and continue knitting pattern with 1 edge sts on each side mid front. Remember knitting tension.
When piece measures 21 (21-22) cm knit next row as follows: 64 (68-72) sts front piece, cast off 4 sts for armhole, 126 (134-142) sts back piece, cast off 4 sts for armhole, 64 (68-72) sts front piece. Complete each piece separately.

Front piece: = 64 (68-72) sts. Continuing cast off for armhole on every other row: 3 sts 1 (1-2) times, 2 sts 2 (2-2) times, 1 st 1 (2-3) times = 56 (59-59) sts.
When piece measures 29 (29-31) cm cast off for neck on every other row: 2 sts 7 times and then on every 4th row: 1 st 4 (5-5) times. Cast off when piece measures 46 (46-48) cm

Back piece: = 126 (134-142) sts. Continuing cast off for armhole like front piece = 110 (116-116) sts.
When piece measures 44 (44-46) cm cast off middle 30 (32-32) sts to shape neckline. Then cast off 2 sts on each side on next row to shape neckline. Cast off when piece measures 46 (46-48) cm

Sleeve: Cast on 50 (50-50) sts on double pointed needles 3.5 mm and continuing knit Pattern (ensure to centre K4 sts mid sleeve).
At the same time inc mid under arm: 2 sts 33 (33-35) times alternating on every 3rd and 4th round = 116 (116-120) sts.
When piece measures 44 (44-45) cm cast off 6 sts mid under arm and complete knitting back and forth on needle. Continuing cast off to shape sleeve cap on every other row: 4 sts 9 times, cast off.
Piece measures approx 51 (51-52) cm.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx 84 sts (dividable with 8 sts + 4 sts) along left front piece on circular needle size 3 mm and knit 3 cm Pattern back and forth on needle.
Repeat along right front edge, but knit 6 button holes after 1 cm evenly distributed on row - 1 buttonhole = cast off 3 sts and cast on 3 new sts over cast off sts on next row.
Pick up approx 110-120 sts round neckline on circular needle size 3 mm and K2 rows back and forth on needle, cast off.
Sew in sleeves and buttons.
