There is a mistake in the directions. The pattern says work two rows of garter stitch in contrast color but the picture shows two ridges of purl stitches. In order to get two ridges, one must work four rows of garter stitch. I didn’t catch this until I was almost to the armholes.

Can you please explain, why armhole is only 12cms long on sleeve and 21cm long on back and front. does not fit
19.02.2012 - 18:23DROPS Design answered:
The armhole on sleeve is not 12 cm. The 12 cm is the height of the sleeve cap. The width of the armhole on sleeve is 21 cm if you have 19 sts in width and 25 rows in height on 4 inches. If correct gauge then sleeve cap is 12 cm in height and armhole 21 cm in width.

When piece measures 31-31-31-30-29-27 cm (less on the larger sizes because of larger sleeve cap) dec to shape the sleeve cap each side on every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1-1-2-2-2-2 times, 1 st 7-8-8-9-11-14 times, then 2 sts each side until piece measures 39-40-41-41-42-42 cm, and 3 sts each side 1 time. Cast off remaining sts, sleeve measures approx 40-41-42-42-43-43 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves and sew side and sleeve seams inside 1 edge st. Neckline: Pick up 104 to 110 sts (incl sts on threads) round the neck on circular needle size 4.5 mm with Bomull-Lin (no of sts divisible by 2). Continue with Bomull-Lin + Glitter, P 1 round, K 1 round and then work 4 rounds moss st. Cast off in moss st. String: Cut 6 threads Cotton Viscose + Glitter measuring 5 meters each (= 12 threads). Twist them tog until they resist, fold threads double and let them twist again. Tie a knot each end, but leave approx 9 cm for tassel. Thread string through casting on row for neckline, go up and down with approx 4 cm in between. |
