Crochet tension: Remember hook size is only a guide! 10 double treble crochet x 4.5 rows with hook size 6 mm and 1 strand Muskat + 1 strand Viscose = 10 x 10 cm. Crochet info-1: At the beginning of every round/row, replace 1 double treble crochet with 4 chain stitches and every round is finished with 1 slip stitch in the 4th chain stitch/first double treble crochet at the beginning of the round. Work 1 double treble crochet in each double treble crochet from the previous row - do not work between treble crochets. Crochet info-2: Because the body and sleeves are first worked in the round and then back and forth on needle, there will be a slight difference in texture. Stripes: Work 2 rounds of double treble crochets in each colour combination. M = Muskat, CV = Cotton Viscose Stripe pattern for body: Bordeaux M no 41+ CV. Coral M no 40 + CV. Red M no 12 + CV. Rust M no 21 + CV. Dark orange M no 49 + CV. Coral M no 40 + CV. Red M no 12 + CV. Piece now measures approx. 31 cm. Repeat stripes to finished length. Stripe pattern for sleeves: Bordeaux M no 41 + CV. Rust M no 21 + CV. Dark orange M no 49 + CV. Terracotta M no 28 + CV. Rust M no 21 + CV. Bordeaux M no 41 + CV. Red M no 12 + CV. Coral M no 40 + CV. Dark orange M no 49 + CV. Rust M no 21 + CV. Piece now measures approx. 45 cm. Finish working sleeve with red M no 12 + CV. Decrease tip: Decrease as follows at beginning of row: Replace 1 double treble crochet with 1 slip stitch. Decrease as follows at end of row: Turn piece when you have the number of double treble crochets left to be decreased. ---------------------------------------------------------- Body: Read Crochet info-1! Work 120-132-144-159-174 chain stitches with hook size 6 mm and 1 strand bordeaux M + 1 strand CV and form them to a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. Work according to stripe pattern for body - see description above. Round 1: Work 1 double treble crochet in each chain stitch but skip every 3rd chain stitch to end of round = 80-88-96-106-116 double treble crochets on round. Insert 1 marker thread in each side = 40-44-48-53-58 double treble crochets between the marker threads - allow the marker threads to follow your work upwards. Then work in the round with 1 double treble crochet in each double treble crochet - see Crochet info-1. Remember the crochet tension! When piece measures 15 and 25 cm increase 1 double treble crochet on each side of the marker thread in each side - increase 1 double treble crochet by working 2 double treble crochets in 1 double treble crochet = 88-96-104-114-124 double treble crochets on round. When piece measures 33-34-35-36-37 cm work the next round as follows: 1 slip stitch in each of the first 4 double treble crochets, 38-42-46-51-56 double treble crochets, turn piece and work back. Each piece is finished separately - read Crochet info-2. Front piece: = 38-42-46-51-56 double treble crochets. Continue by decreasing for armholes in each side on each row - see Decrease tip: 2 double treble crochets 0-0-1-2-3 times and 1 double treble crochet 1-2-2-2-2 times = 36-38-38-39-40 double treble crochets. When piece measures approx. 43-45-47-49-51 cm (adjust so that you have 2 whole stripes left = 4 rows before finished length) decrease for neck as follows: Work 11-12-12-12-12 double treble crochets, turn piece and work back. Then decrease towards neck every row - see Decrease tip: 1 double treble crochet 3 times = 8-9-9-9-9 double treble crochets left on shoulder. Cut strand when piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm. Repeat on the other side. Back piece: Work 1 slip stitch in each of the first 4 double treble crochets after the marker thread, 38-42-46-51-56 double treble crochets, turn piece and work back (= 6 double treble crochet opening in each side). Then decrease for armholes as for front piece = 36-38-38-39-40 double treble crochets. When piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm (you have 1 row left) work 1 row over just 8-9-9-9-9 double treble crochets in each side (do not work over the middle 20-20-20-21-22 double treble crochets = neck). Cut strand, piece measures approx. 52-54-56-58-60 cm. Sleeve: Read Crochet info-1! Work 42-45-45-48-51 chain stitches with hook size 6 mm and 1 strand bordeaux M + 1 strand CV and form them to a ring with 1 slip stitch. Work according to stripe pattern for sleeves - see description above. Round 1: Work 1 double treble crochet in each chain stitch but skip every 3rd chain stitch to end of round = 28-30-30-32-34 double treble crochets on round. Insert 1 marker thread at beginning of round and allow the marker thread to follow your work upwards. Continue in the round with 1 double treble crochet in each double treble crochet. When piece measures 20 cm increase 1 double treble crochet on each side of the marker thread mid under sleeve approx. every 8-8-5-4-4 cm a total of 4-4-5-6-6 times - increase 1 double treble crochet by working 2 double treble crochets in 1 double treble crochet = 36-38-40-44-46 double treble crochets. When sleeve measures 48-47-45-44-42 cm work the next round as follows: 1 slip stitch in each of the first 4 double treble crochets, 30-32-34-38-40 double treble crochets, turn piece and work back. The sleeve is finished working back and forth - see Crochet info-2. Then decrease for sleeve cap on each row - see Decrease tip: 2 double treble crochets in each side until piece measures 56 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams edge to edge. Neck: Work 1 row of double treble crochets around the neck with hook size 6 mm and 1 strand red M no 12 + 1 strand CV. Sew in sleeves edge to edge so the seam is not thick. |
