Knitting tension: 17 sts x 22 rows on needle size 5 mm and pattern = 10 x 10 cm Remember needle sizes are guidelines only!
Pattern: See diagram (1 diagram = 1 pattern repeat). Diagrams are seen from RS. Knit entire pattern in stocking sts.
hoyre erme = right sleeve
venstre erme = left sleeve
hoyre forstk = right front piece
venstre forstk = left front piece
hoyre bakstk = right back piece
venstre bakstk = left back piece
Left front piece: Knit front piece from mid front to side (also sideways). Cast on 74 (80-80) sts on needle size 5 with black and knit P1 row and then stocking sts. When piece measures 3 cm knit Pattern – with 1 edge sts on each side, begin at arrow (K edge sts at bottom of body on all rows). After 2 (4-4) rows pattern inc for neckline: 2 sts 1 times and then on every other row: 2 sts 3 times, 4 sts 3 times = 98(104-104) sts. Continue until piece measures approx 10.5 (11-11) cm. Cast off when piece measures 31 (33-34.5) cm.
Right front piece: Cast on and knit towards the left – but when piece measures 1.5 cm cast off 6 buttonholes evenly on row - 1 buttonhole = cast off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts over the cast off sts on next row.
Left back piece: Knit back piece from mid back to side (also sideways). Cast on 95(101-101) sts on needle size 5 mm with black. Knit Pattern – with 1 edge sts on each side, begin at arrow (K edge sts at bottom of body on all rows). When piece measures 7.5 (8-8) cm inc 3 sts towards neckline = 98 (104-104) sts. When piece measures 28 (30-31.5) cm cast off.
Right back piece: Cast on and knit like left.
Sleeve: Cast on 38 (38-40) sts on double pointed needles size 5 mm with black and P1 row. Continue with stocking sts. When piece measures 2 cm knit Pattern (begin at arrow and ensure to place one pattern repeat mid sleeve). When piece measures 5 (5-5) cm inc mid under arm: 2 sts 24 (24-23) times on every 3rd round = 86 (86-86) sts. When piece measures 42 (41-40) cm cast off 6 sts mid under arm and complete knitting back and forth on needle. Continuing cast off to shape sleeve cap on every other row: 6 sts 3 times, cast off. Piece measures approx 46 (45-44) cm.
Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew tog back piece mid back with black mattress sts. Pick up approx 100-104 sts round neckline on needles size 5 mm with black and P1 row, cast off.
Crochet edge: Crochet with double yarn from RS with black and crochet hook size 5 mm as follows: 1 row dc around ridge edge along bottom of body, up along front bad and around neck distributed as follows: approx 110-120 dc around body, approx 45 dc along each front band, approx 50 dc around neckline. Crochet a row of dc the opposite way, i.e. from left to right without turning piece. Crochet dc from RS in each dc from previous row. Repeat from *-*. Repeat both rows along bottom sleeve edge, approx 22-24 dc. Sew in sleeves and buttons.
