Dear Mrs Boardman, after row 3 you have 14 sts in each A.3 in width; on row 4 you will increase 2 stitches in each A.3 in width working *(1 dc, 1 ch, skip 1 dc) x 7, 1 dc in next stitch, 1 chain, skip 1 dc*, repeat from *-* (= 16 sts - 8 dc + 8 chains) all the round. Hi there, could you possibly clarify what you say in "CROCHET INFO", that the first 3ch does NOT replace first dc? Could you clarify? Thanks !
08.10.2023 kl. 11:17:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Antje, you work 3ch and then work 2dc. The 3ch are not part of the pattern and just allow the beginning of the round to be less tight. So they are only the start of the round, but aren't part of the repeats of the pattern in the round. You work the slip stitch over the 3ch, not 3dc. Happy crochetting!

Dear Adell, for the armhole you have worked a 30 chain stitch chain and skipped 15 dc and 15 chain stitches. The round with dc in dc and dc around the chain is the 5th round of A.3, so there are chain stitches in the round right before this one. Happy crocheting!

Does this mean every other row I need to decrease or in the next two I decrease after every inch I go down the row, and it will happen ten times.

Dear LoraM, when you have worked 1" from the first decrease, you work the decrease again; the rest of the rows don't have decreases. Repeat this 10 times (you should have in total 11 decrease rows, counting the first and last ones). Happy crocheting!

22.05.2022 kl. 00:58:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mia, indeed, the gauge seems to be off. The gauge is measured as 14 dc in width = 10 cm. Then, work a few rows and measure the gauge there vertically/ in length and use this as a guide. Since A.2 is working as a multiple of 6 stitches, it's better to work a few rounds of A.1 in length to achieve the 28 cm required, if your gauge is still off. Happy crocheting!

Dear Gayathiri Mani, Please understand, that we cannot modify our patterns for each individual request. Second, I would try to crochet the largest size, the difference in measurements / gauge might be enough. Happy Crocheting!

Dear Sandra, work the 5th row in A.3 as explained in the written pattern: work from *-* a total of 25 times, then 1 st in next st, chain 30 and skip the next 15 sts+15 chains (= hole for the sleeve), work from *-* a total of 40 times, 1 st in next chain, repeat armhole = 30 ch, skip next 15 sts + 15 chains and finish round wiht 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round. On next round you will repeat A.4 a total of 24 times in width, crocheting in the stitches from A.3 as well as in the chains. Happy crocheting!

30.07.2019 kl. 18:29:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Blevins, when sleeve cap has been worked, you now have to increase new stitches on each side of A.7, you now cut the yarn. Crochet now 18 chains, then work 1 dc in each of the dc in A.7, and crochet 19 chains, and now work 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in each of the next 15 ch, 1 dc in each of the dc from A.7, and finish with 1 dc in each of the remaining chains = 57 dc. Dear Sarah, you work 1 dc in each of the next 5 dc increasing 1 dc at the same time, ie you will have 6 dc over the 5 dc from previous round, then crochet 26 chains for the first armhole, skip the next 26 sts and finish with 1 sl in the 3rd ch from beg of round. Happy crocheting!

Dear Mrs Smith, after you have completed A.2 and there are 120 sts in total you have now to work A.3 (12 times in the round = in width) starting on the row with the black star - after row 2 there are 13 sts in each A.3 (13x12 repeats) = 156 sts. On row 3 there are 14 sts x 12 repeats = 168 sts and so on. Happy crocheting!

15.02.2017 kl. 16:10:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Ussery, 1st row in A.2 is worked over 6 sts in A.1, so that you have to repeat A.2 in width a total of 6 times (= 6 x 6 = 36 sts as in last row in A.1). When A.2 will be worked, you will have a total of 96 dc and 24 ch, ie as shown in diagram: (1ch, 4 dc) x 4 in each A.2 = a total of 96 dc and 24 ch. Happy crocheting!

Dear Joelene, there is only diagram to this pattern, you will find diagram explanation with 1 symbol = 1 st or 1 group of st. Start reading diagrams from the bottom corner on the right side towards the left on every round (except A.1 - beg of round = 8th symbol) - remember your DROPS store will also provide you further personnal assistance. 30.03.2016 kl. 15:00:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Sklarkowski, after you have worked A.2 around, you now work A.3 repeating the sts in A.3 a total of 12 times in width (on the round) - since you have then to work the armholes, you will crochet the first 2 rounds in A.3 in 1st size and crochet the 3rd and 4th round as stated under "size S/M" and continue then diagram as before - in 2nd size, you crochet the first 3 rounds in A.3 then work the armholes (size L/XL) and the first 4 rounds in A.3 in larger size before crocheteing the armholes (size XXL/XXXL). Happy crocheting!

Dear Lisa, in this pattern you beg every round with dc with 3 ch (to get the correct height to work the nect dc) but these doesn't replace 1st dc - see crochet info - and are done extra. Happy crocheting!

I've just started this project and find the instructions pretty confusing already. Round1:Every pattern I've ever seen has the initial chains replacing one of the stitches. The instructions here say it does not but I have no idea what function it provides then. If I am to DC 12 in the ring + 3 chains, I essentially end up with 13 DCs, regardless! That means 26 in Round2, not 24, unless I skip a "loop".
16.12.2015 kl. 06:16:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Lisa, in that pattern the first 3 ch do not replace the first dc, but they will then be worked above each other on every round, ie on round 1 there are 12 dc + 3 ch, at the end of round, join with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round = 12 dc + 3 ch, on 2nd round, ch3 and work 2 dc in each dc around, join with 1 sl st in 3rd ch at beg of round = 3 ch + 24 dc. Rd.

If I understand correctly, at the end of this round I should have 168 total stiches. I don't see any directions for decreasing. How do I get from 192 stitches to 168?
04.11.2015 kl. 19:26:DROPS Design answered:
Dear Randye, this mean you will crochet 6 dc over the next 5 dc, ie you will inc 1 dc working 1 dc over the next 5 dc, you will then have (2dc (=inc)+8dc) x 5 + 26 ch + (2 dc (= inc) + 8 dc)x6 + (5 dc+1 inc=6dc) + 26 ch = 116 dc + 2x26ch (= 52 ch) = 168 sts. Happy crocheting!
