------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.7. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- BLANKET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in squares which are sewn together to finish. A total of 6 squares in 2 variations. The squares are worked in the round with double pointed needles from the middle outwards. Change to circular needle when necessary. SQUARE 1: Cast on 8 stitches with Sky and divide them between 4 double pointed needles size 4 mm = US 6 (= 2 stitches on each needle). Then work according to A.1 (= 4 repeats on the round). When A.1 has been completed 1 time in height, continue as follows: * A.2 (= 8 stitches), A.3 (= 23 stitches), A.4 (= 9 stitches) *, work from *-* a total of 4 times. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE! When A.2, A.3 and A.4 have been worked one time in height there are 280 stitches on the needle. Bind off the first 210 stitches = 70 stitches left on the needle. Continue back and forth as follows: A.5 A (= 10 stitches), A.5 B over the next 56 stitches, A.5 C (= 4 stitches). Bind off when A.5 has been worked one time in height. Work 2 squares in this way. SQUARE 2: Cast on 8 stitches with Sky and divide them between 4 double pointed needles size 4 mm = US 6 (= 2 stitches on each needle). Work according to A.1 (= 4 repeats on the round). When A.1 has been completed one time in height, continue as follows: * A.2 (= 8 stitches), A.3 (= 23 stitches), A.4 (= 9 stitches) *, work from *-* a total of 4 times. When A.2, A.3 and A.4 have been worked one time in height there are 280 stitches on the needle. Bind off the first 140 stitches = 140 stitches left on the needle. Continue back and forth as follows: Work A.6 A (= 8 stitches), A.6 B over the next 56 stitches, A.6 C (= 6 stitches), A.7 A (= 4 stitches), A.7 B over the next 56 stitches, finish with A.7 C (= 10 stitches). When A.6 and A.7 have been worked one time in height there are 150 stitches on the needle. Bind off. Work 4 squares in this way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the squares together as shown in the sketch. Sew in the outermost loop of the stitch so the seam is flat. |
