EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:

-------------------------------------------------------

PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 and A.2.

COLOUR PATTERN (applies to diagram A.2):
When changing colours at the beginning of a round, work the slip stitch at the end of the previous round with the new colour.
When working with two colours on a round of treble crochets, work as follows: Work the last treble crochet with the first colour, but wait with the last pull-through, change the colour and work the last pull through with this colour and then work the next treble crochet.
When working with two colours lay the strand of the colour not being worked over the stitches from the previous round. Work around the strand so that it is hidden and carried forward.

CROCHET INFORMATION:
At the beginning of each round of treble crochets, replace the first treble crochet with 3 chain stitches. The round finishes with 1 slip stitch in the 3rd chain stitch at the beginning of the round.

CORNET - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The piece is worked in the round with 2 strands, bottom up.

CORNET:
Work 4 chain stitches with hook size 5.5 mm and 2 strands of red. Form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch. Then work in the round according to diagram A.1. When A.1 has been completed there are 21 treble crochets on the round.
Continue working in the round as follows:
Work A.2a over the first treble crochet, A.2b over the next 18 treble crochets (= 3 repeats of 6 treble crochets) and A.2c over the last 2 treble crochets – read COLOUR PATTERN and CROCHET INFORMATION! Each round shows how many treble crochets there are when the round has been completed (i.e. the 2 increased treble crochets on each round are drawn in the diagram). REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! When the whole of A.2 has been worked there are 60 treble crochets and a loop on the last round. Cut and fasten the strands. The piece measures approx. 28 cm (measured in middle of piece).

Diagram

= Start here - this chain-stitch ring is described in the text. Continue from the symbol over the point on the circle and work towards the left
= The round begins with 3 chain stitches (= equivalent to 1 treble crochet) and finishes with 1 slip stitch in the 3rd chain stitch at the beginning of the round
= treble crochet around chain-stitch ring
= treble crochet in stitch
= 1 treble crochet with 2 strands red
= 1 treble crochet with 2 strands off-white
= 1 treble crochet with1 strand red and 1 strand off-white (= 2 strands)
= 2 treble crochets worked in 1 treble crochet from previous round. At the beginning of the round use the same colour as the colour of the next treble crochet and at the end of the round use the same colour as the previous treble crochet
= do not end the round with 1 slip stitch, but work 13 chain stitches (= loop). Continue with the last round and finish the round with 1 slip stitch in the 3rd chain stitch at the beginning of the round (= in the loop). Then work 10 double crochets around the loop (the 10 chain stitches left on the loop) and finish with 1 slip stitch in the first treble crochet on the previous round. Cut and fasten strands.
