HAT:
Cast on 61-67 stitches with needle size 5 mm and Merino Extra Fine. Work FISHERMAN’S RIB back and forth – see description above. Continue until the piece measures approx. 25-26 cm; adjust so that the last row is from the wrong side.

Now decrease at top of hat as follows in the different sizes:

S/M:
ROW 1: Work 1 stitch in garter stitch, knit together all stitches 2 and 2 until there are 2 stitches left, knit 1 and work 1 stitch in garter stitch = 32 stitches.
ROW 2 and all rows from the wrong side: Purl with 1 stitch in garter stitch in each side.
ROW 3: Work 1 stitch in garter stitch, knit all stitches together 2 and 2 until there is 1 stitch left and work 1 stitch in garter stitch = 17 stitches.

M/L:
ROW 1: Work 1 stitch in garter stitch, knit all stitches together 2 and 2 until there are 2 stitches left, knit 1 and work 1 stitch in garter stitch = 35 stitches.

BOTH SIZES:
There are 5-6 stitches on the needle, cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches a couple of times, pull tight and fasten well.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew the hat together mid back; sew stitch to stitch in outermost loop of outermost stitch so that the seam is flat. Fold the bottom edge up approx. 5-6 cm on the right side.
