Pattern instructions

EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:

-------------------------------------------------------

PATTERN:
See diagram A.1. The pattern is worked in stocking stitch.

DECREASE TIP:
Decrease after each marker thread as follows: Slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (= 1 stitch decreased).

-------------------------------------------------------

START THE PIECE HERE:

-------------------------------------------------------

HAT - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
You first work a lining (which later will be folded up and sewn to the wrong side of the hat), then a folding edge before continuing with pattern. The hat is worked in the round with circular needle; change to double pointed needles when necessary.

HAT:
Cast on 96-102 (108-114-120) stitches with circular needle size 3 mm and grey. Work stocking stitch in the round (= lining). When the piece measures 5 cm work the next round as follows: * Knit 2 together, 1 yarn over *, work from *-* over all stitches (= folding edge). Knit 1 round (the yarn overs are not knitted twisted).
Then work A.1 (= 6 stitches) a total of 16-17 (18-19-20) times in the round. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
When A.1 has been completed, the piece measures approx. 11 cm (including 5 cm lining). The piece is now finished with grey.
When the piece measures 18-19 (20-21-22) cm (including 5 cm lining), work 1 round where you decrease 6-2 (8-4-0) stitches = 90-100 (100-110-120) stitches. Then insert 10 marker threads in the piece with 9-10 (10-11-12) stitches between each one. On the next round decrease 1 stitch after each marker thread – read DECREASE TIP (= 10 stitches decreased). Decrease like this every 2nd round a total of 8 times = 10-20 (20-30-40) stitches. Work all stitches together 2 and 2 = 5-10 (10-15-20) stitches. Repeat in the 2 largest sizes = 5-10 (10-8-10) stitches.
Cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches, pull tight and fasten well. The hat measures approx. 23-24 (25-26-27) cm (including lining).

ASSEMBLY:
Fold the lining at the bottom of hat up to the wrong side and sew down with grey (sew to 1 round of grey). The hat measures approx. 18-19 (20-21-22) cm.
