INFORMATION FOR THE PATTERN:

PATTERN:
See diagram A.1.
----------------------------------------------------------

CROCHET FLOWER:
The flower is worked according to diagram A.1 – as follows:
Work 3 chain stitches with red and form them to a ring with 1 slip stitch.

ROUND 1:
Work 3 chain stitches (= equivalent to 1 treble crochet), then work 15 treble crochets around the ring = 16 treble crochets.

ROUND 2: Change to cerise.
Work 7 chain stitches (equivalent to 1 treble crochet + 4 chain stitches) , skip 1 treble crochet, work * 1 treble crochet in the next treble crochet + 4 chain stitches, skip 1 treble crochet *, work from *-* 6 more times and finish with 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch at beginning of round = 8 treble crochets with 4 chain stitches between each.

ROUND 3:
Work 5 chain stitches, take the crochet hook out of the loop, insert it through the top of the last treble crochet worked on previous round, insert it through the loop from the chain stitches, make a yarn over and pull through both stitches. Work 3 chain stitches, then work 11 treble crochets around this 5-chain-space. Work 6 double treble crochets around the 3 chain stitches at beginning of the previous round, work 1 slip stitch in the top of the next treble crochet = 1 petal. * Work 5 chain stitches, take the hook out of the loop and lay the chain stitches behind the previous petal worked. Fold the petal towards you and insert the hook through the treble crochet that is between the 11 treble crochets and the 6 double treble crochets worked on previous petal, insert it into the loop from the chain stitches, make a yarn over and pull through both stitches. The 5-chain-space is now fastened behind the previous petal worked. Work 3 chain stitches, then work 11 treble crochets around this 5-chain-space. Work 6 double treble crochets around the next treble crochet from the previous round, work 1 slip stitch in the top of the next treble crochet = 1 petal. * Work from *-* until you have worked a total of 8 petals on this round. Cut and fasten the strands.

Work another flower in the same way but in opposite colours, i.e. round 1is worked with cerise, rounds 2 and 3 are worked with red.

Work 2 flowers of each colour combination.

Thread a silk ribbon up and down through the chain-spaces at the back of the flower.
