And that’s the confusing part. I am ready to start A.1 again and I have 133 sts including the chain 3 at the beginning. The previous round we established we worked the 7sts 22 times so we have 22 sections of 7 if x 7 =154 + 1 but if it’s 6 sts x 22 = 132 +1. So wouldn’t the graph be the 6sts worked 22 times. I’m not counting the skipped st on,y the 6 sts that are worked in the graph. When i como, este the first round I will have worked the 6 sts 22 times not 19

I apologise. One more question. I have 133 sts to start A.1. Here again it’s says 19 reps but I have 22 times 6 sts = 132 + 1 so does that mean the graph is worked over those 6 sts (not counting the skip 1 chain) 22 times and not 19 times? Is that correct? The reps are confusing I don’t know what they are. I’m understanding the working 22 times but I’m confusing the 19 reps with the 22 times.

No worries :) You have 133 sts = 132 + 3 chains, work 1st round starting with A.2 (= 3 chains = do not replace first treble here), then work the 7-sts-repeat each A.1 (first stitch will be in the 3rd ch from beg of previous round) a total of 19 times = 19 times 7 sts = 133 sts + the 3 chains in A.2. Hope this helps.

Aaah I think this is where the confusion is. It’s the terminology of the word repetitions. The 7 sts are worked 22 times, I thought the 22 times was the reps. So it’s a actually worked 22 times not sure what the 19 reps mean. Yes I do have 133 sts when I start the A.1 the graph is correct but I still wound up on the final row with too many sts. Will try again. Sorry for all the confusion

This is so frustrating. I’ll try and explain it another way. There are 155 chain and 7 sts make up each section. If you divide 155 by 7= 22 and that’s how many sections I get. But after the round there are 133 sts and if you divide 133 by 7 = 19. But I have 22 sections because I have worked into the 155 chain and even though it’s given me 133 I still have 22 sections. The only way is if someone in your depot can work those two rows and explain it because I can’t work it out.
03.02.2021 - 12:10DROPS Design answered:
The foundation chain is most often too tight, reason why you crochet here 155 chains at the very beginning but then skip chains evenly so that you will have only 133 trebles at the end of fthe first round - see previous answer for the details. Then you have enough stitches for 19 repeats in size L. Hope this will help, happy crocheting!

Thank you so much for your response but I’ve done all you said and I’ve worked the A.1 graph according to your video tutorial and that all works out. It’s the cast on at the very beginning. Sts concur for size L. I cast on 155 chain then join in the first chain. Chain 3 miss the first stitch then dc 6 miss the next st and repeat until the end counted 133 sts and 22 sections of 7 sts. Is someone able to crochet just those two rows? Done 3 times already still get 22 reps

Dear Cloudy, the thing is here that you shouldn't have 155 sts to work A.1 over but only 133, as follows: 3 chains (= 1st treble), then repeat (skip 1 chain, 1 treble in each of the next 6 chains) a total of 22 times = this means you will work over 7 chains x 22 = 154 chains a total of 6 trebles x 22 = 132 trebles + the 3 chains = 133 trebles at the end of the first round. Hope this helps.

I just did the size S to make sure I was doing it right and cast on 146 chain after the first row I have 126 sts but there are 21 repetitions of 7 sts not 18. When you say repetitions I assume you mean the actual number of sections of 7 sts. It must be something I’m not doing right but I don’t understand what it is
03.02.2021 - 11:02DROPS Design answered:
In size S there are 126 stitches after first round, so that you can only work 18 repeats of 7 sts (= 18*7= 126 sts). Not sure where you are wrong, but remember, you first cast on more chains that you require, and on the very first round you will skip chains evenly to get 126 trebles (UK-terms) in size S and 133 trebles in size L. Hope this helps.

Correct I cast on 155 and after the first round I have 133 chain. But count the sections of 7 stitches. I have 22 sections not 19. All the figures work out but not the repetitions. When I complete the first round of A.1 there are 22 flowers that means there are 22 sections. I have done it twice and it’s still 22 sections of 7 stitches not 19 sections and that would throw the whole graph out and why I have extra sts on the final increase row
03.02.2021 - 10:21DROPS Design answered:
maybe check how you work the very first row in A.1? Each A.1 should be worked over 7 sts - adding a marking thread between each repeat could help you to get the correct number of repeats on the round. (22 x 7 sts = 154 sts while you only have 133 sts, reason why you can repeat 19 times the 7 sts).

LACE PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.3. A.2 shows how round begins and ends when working A.1 (A.2 is an addition to A.1, i.e A.2 replaces 1st stitch). CROCHET INFO: Begin every round with trebles with 3 chain stitches ,finish round with 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch at beginning of round. Begin every round with double crochet with 1 chain stitch, finish round with 1 slip stitch in 1st chain stitch at beginning of round. 2nd and 5th round in A.3 begins with 3 chain stitches, finish round with 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch at beginning of round. PATTERN-1 (applies to body): Work A.3. When A.3 has been worked 1 time vertically, work 5-6-8-9-10-11 rounds with 1 treble in every treble, then work A.3 one more time. INCREASE/DECREASE TIP: To calculate how to increase/decrease evenly, use the total number of stitches on row (e.g. 258 stitches) and divide stitches by number of increases/decreases to be done (e.g. 15) = 17.2. In this example increase after approx. every 17th stitch. If decrease, crochet approx. every 16th and 17th stitch together. INCREASE TIP-1: Increase 1 treble by working 2 trebles in same stitch. INCREASE TIP-2: Work until 2 trebles/chain stitches remain before marker thread, work 2 trebles in/around next treble/chain stitch (= 1 treble increased), work 1 treble in/around each of the next 2 treble/chain stitches, marker thread is in the middle of these trebles/chain stitches, work 2 trebles in/around next treble/chain stitch (= 1 treble increased). Repeat increase at every marker thread. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 treble by working the next 2 trebles together as follows: Work 1 treble but wait with last pull through (= 2 loops on hook), then work next treble but on last pull through, pull yarn through all 3 loops on hook. ---------------------------------------------------------- DRESS: Worked in the round from mid back, top down. YOKE: Work 146-146-155-155-163-163 chain stitches on hook size 3.5 mm with Safran and form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. Work first round as follows: Work 3 chain stitches - READ CROCHET INFO, 1 treble in each of the next 5-5-0-0-1-1 chain stitch, * skip 1 chain stitch, 1 treble in each of the next 6 chain stitches *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 126-126-133-133-140-140 trebles (including 3 chain stitches from the beginning of round). Then work A.1 in the round (= 18-18-19-19-20-20 repetitions of 7 stitches - A.2 shows how every round in A.1 begins and ends and comes in addition to A.1). REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! Are you saying that each section of the graph is not worked over each 6 st section but goes into the next set of 6 to complete? This is even more confusing. Maybe that’s what I’m doing wrong. I’ll complete this first round of the graph and follow the video I hope it works because I actually thought each part of the graph was the 6 sts
