INCREASE TIP:
Increase as follows mid under sleeve – start 1 stitch before the marker thread: Make 1 yarn over, knit 2 (the marker thread sits between these 2 stitches), 1 yarn over. On the next round work the yarn overs twisted knit to prevent holes.
----------------------------------------------------------

JUMPER:
The jumper is worked in the round with circular needle up to the armholes, then the back and front pieces are worked separately back and forth.

BODY:
Cast on 144-152-164-176-192-208 stitches with circular needle size 6 mm / US 10 and 1 strand Alpaca, 1 strand off white Kid-Silk and 1 strand light steel blue Kid-Silk (= 3 strands). Knit 1 round, then work rib (knit 2/ purl 2). Work rib for 7 cm / 2¾''. Change to circular needle size 7 mm / US 10.75 and work 1 round stockinette stitch where you decrease 12-12-12-12-12-12 stitches evenly along the round = 132-140-152-164-180-196 stitches. Continue with stockinette stitch. When the piece measures 37-38-39-40-41-42 cm / 14½''-15''-15¼''-15¾''-16 1/8''-16½'' work only across the first 66-70-76-82-90-98 stitches on the needle, the last 66-70-76-82-90-98 stitches are placed on a thread.

FRONT PIECE:
= 66-70-76-82-90-98 stitches. Continue with stockinette stitch. When the piece measures 46-48-50-52-54-56 cm / 18''-19''-19¾''-20½''-21¼''-22'' place the middle 32-32-34-34-36-36 stitches on a thread for the neck.
Knit 1 row from the right side across the last 17-19-21-24-27-31 stitches on the needle, turn and purl 1 row from the wrong side, at the end of the row purl the last 2 stitches together.
Place the stitches on a thread. Knit 1 row from the right side across the last 17-19-21-24-27-31 stitches on the needle, turn and purl 1 row from the wrong side, at the end of the row bind off the last stitch towards the neck. Place all the stitches back on the needle and knit 1 row from the right side and knit up 2 stitches in each side (between the stitches for the neck and the stitches on the shoulder) towards the neck = 68-72-78-84-92-100 stitches. Purl 1 row from the wrong side where you increase 6-6-4-6-6-6 stitches evenly along the row = 74-78-82-90-98-106 stitches. Work as follows – from the right side: knit 2 * purl 2, knit 2 *, repeat from *-* the complete row. Work rib for 7 cm / 2¾'', the piece measures approx. 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm / 21¼''-22''-22¾''-23 5/8''-24 3/8''-25¼'', then bind off with knit over knit and purl over purl.

BACK PIECE:
Worked in the same way as the front piece.

SLEEVE:
The piece is worked in the round with double pointed needles. Use a short circular needle when there are enough stitches. Cast on 32-32-36-36-40-40 stitches with double pointed needle size 6 mm / US 10 and 1 strand Alpaca, 1 strand off white Kid-Silk and 1 strand light steel blue Kid-Silk (= 3 strands). Work 1 round stockinette stitch, then work rib (knit 2/ purl 2). Work rib for 5 cm / 2''. Change to double pointed needle size 7 mm / US 10.75, work 1 round stockinette stitch where you decrease 4-4-6-6-8-6 stitches evenly along the round = 28-28-30-30-32-34 stitches. Insert 1 marker thread at the beginning of the round = mid under sleeve. Work stockinette stitch, when the piece measures 7 cm / 2¾'' increase 1 stitch on each side of the marker thread – READ INCREASE TIP. Increase every 5½-4½-4½-4-4-4 cm / 2 1/4"-1 3/4"-1 3/4"-1½"-1½"-1½" in total 8-9-9-10-10-10 times = 44-46-48-50-52-54 stitches. Bind off when the piece measures 48-47-46-45-43-41 cm / 19"-18½"-18"-17 3/4"-17"-16". NOTE! shorter measurements in the larger sizes due to broader shoulder measurements.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew the shoulder seams, leave approx. 26-27-28-29-30-31 cm / 10¼''-10 5/8''-11''-11 3/8''-11¾''-12¼'' for the neck. Sew in the sleeves.

Can this pattern be done with sport weight yarn using only one strand?\r\nAlso, I don\'t understand the instructions for decreasing the body. Does it not matter when you decrease as long as you decrease 12 total stitches?

Debbie Kulak 08.05.2018 - 12:29:

Thank you for your explanation. When working the 2 rows on the each shoulder are you decreasing at the neck edge or shoulder? How do you knit both shoulders with the stitches on thread in the middle. After the first shoulder I cant't figure out how to knit the second with the same skein of yarn that I used for the first. Every attempt I've made using the same skein results in joining the stitches in the round. Is the second shoulder knitted with an additional skein of yarn?

DROPS Design 08.05.2018 kl. 12:31:

Dear Mrs Kulak, when working the 2 rows on each shoulder you will dec towards neck, not towards armhole. You will have to knit each shoulder separately, ie cut the yarn after 1st shoulder and join the yarn again to work 2nd shoulder. Happy knitting!

Debbie Kulak 07.05.2018 - 23:47:

Help\\r\\nPlease explain the pattern instructions for the front piece. They make no sense. I went to a local knitting shop and asked an expert to help me. She couldn\\\'t understand the instructions either. \\r\\nThank you\\r\\nDebbie Kulak

DROPS Design 08.05.2018 kl. 08:55:

Dear Mrs Kulak, you will first work 2 rows over the sts for each shoulder (leaving the middle sts on a thread for neck). Then work back all sts from first shoulder, pick up 2 sts before sts on a thread for neck, work sts from thread, pick up 2 sts before next shoulder and work last shoulder. Now work next row from WS inc sts evenly and continue with rib P2/K2 inside 2 sts in garter st on each side for 7 cm. Happy knitting!

He entendido bien? Gracias!

DROPS Design 17.12.2017 kl. 18:27:

Hola María, sí, lo has entendido correctamente.

Ulrike 29.10.2017 - 14:29:
