HAT AND NECK WARMER:

PATTERN:
See diagram A.1.

DECREASE TIP:
Dec 1 st after marker as follows: Slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso.
----------------------------------------------------------

HAT:
Worked in the round on circular needle, switch to double pointed needles when needed. Cast on 72-78-84-90 sts on circular needle size 4 mm with Nepal. K 1 round. Then work rib = K 3/P 3 for 4-5-6-7 cm. Switch to circular needle size 5 mm and K 1 round while dec 8-6-12-10 sts evenly = 64-72-72-80 sts. Then work in stocking st. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION When piece measures 14-15-16-17 cm, insert 8 markers in the piece, 8-9-9-10 sts between each marker. On next round dec 1 st after every marker - SEE DECREASE TIP (= 8 sts dec). Dec like this every other round a total of 3 times and then every round 3 times in total = 16-24-24-32 sts remain on needle. * K 1 round, on next round K tog all sts 2 by 2 * = 8-12-12-16 sts. Repeat from *-* one more time in size 7/10 = 8-12-12-8 sts remain on needle. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten. The hat measures approx. 19-20-21-22 cm vertically.
----------------------------------------------------------

NECK WARMER:
Worked in the round on circular needle. Cast on 77-84-91-98 sts on circular needle size 4 mm with Nepal. K 1 round. Then work rib = K 3/P 4 for 3 cm. On last round dec all 4 P sts to 3 P sts by P 2 tog in every P-section = 66-72-78-84 sts. Switch to circular needle size 5 mm and work pattern in the round according to diagram A.1 (make sure that P is over K and K is over P). When piece measures 9-11-13-15 cm, work 1 round while inc 1 st in every K section(inc 1 st by making 1 YO, on next round P YO twisted to avoid holes) = 77-84-91-98 sts. Switch to circular needle size 4 mm and work rib (= K 3 / P 4 – make sure that K is over P and P is over K). When rib measures 3 cm (the entire neck warmer measures approx. 12-14-16-18 cm), loosely cast off with K over K and P over P.

Adrija 25.12.2018 - 11:41:

What does P-section mean in neck warmer?

DROPS Design 27.12.2018 kl. 18:49:

Hi Adrija, a p-secion means 4 purls stitches (together) at the beginning of your neck wormer. Happy knitting!

Barbara Shorrel 03.11.2018 - 23:13:

What does it mean to decrease 10 stitches evenly (size 7/10 years) in one row? This is in one round of knit stitch, correct? Do I knit 8 stitches and then decrease 1 repeating that until the end of the row?

DROPS Design 05.11.2018 kl. 10:50:

Dear Mrs Shorrel, you work 1 row while dec 8 sts evenly - calculate how to distribute the decreases as explained here. Happy knitting!

Michelle 02.07.2018 - 01:25:

Bon tricot!

Rita 15.10.2016 - 13:50:

Buon lavoro!
