SWEATER:
Worked back and forth on circular needle from mid back.
Cast on 213-229-245-269-293-317 sts (includes 5 band sts in each side towards mid back) on circular needle size 3.5 mm / US 4 with Cotton Light. Work 3 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above. Switch to circular needle size 4 mm / US 6 and work as follows - from RS: 5 sts in garter st (= band), A.1 A (= 2 sts), A.1 C (= 15 sts), stockinette st over the next 52-52-52-64-68-72 sts , A.1 A ( = 2 sts), A.1B over the next 48-64-80-80-96-112 sts, A1.C (= 15 sts), stockinette st over the next 52-52-52-64-68-72 sts, finish with A.1 A (= 2 sts), A.1 C ( = 15 sts) and 5 sts in garter st (= band). Continue pattern like this. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE When piece measures 8 cm / 3 1/8'', insert 2 markers in the piece; 56-60-64-70-76-82 sts in from each side (= 101-109-117-129-141-153 sts between markers on front piece). Now dec 1 st on each side of both markers (= 4 sts dec). Repeat dec every 9-9-9-10-10-10 cm / 3½''-3½''-3½''-4''-4''-4'' 4 times in total = 197-213-229-253-277-301 sts. Dec for BUTTONHOLES on first band - see explanation above. When piece measures 38-39-40-41-42-43 cm / 15-15¼''-15¾''-16 1/8''-16½''-17'', bind off for armholes in each side as follows: Work until 4 sts remain before first marker in the side, bind off the next 8 sts, work until 4 sts remain before marker in the other side, bind off the next 8 sts and work the rest of row. There are now 85-93-101-113-125-137 sts on front piece and 48-52-56-62-68-74 sts on each back piece. Put piece aside and knit the sleeves.

SLEEVE:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 48-50-52-54-56-58 sts on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm / US 4 with Cotton Light. Work 3 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above. Switch to double pointed needles size 4 mm / US 6. Insert 1 marker at beg of round = mid under sleeve. Then work in stockinette st. When piece measures 6-6-6-6-8-8 cm / 2½"-2½"-2½"-2½"-3"-3", inc 2 sts mid under sleeve. Inc every 3-3-2½-2½-2-2 cm / 1 1/8"-1 1/8"-7/8"-7/8"-3/4"-3/4" 13-14-15-16-17-18 times in total = 74-78-82-86-90-94 sts. When piece measures 49-49-49-49-48-48 cm / 19 1/4"-19 1/4"-19 1/4"-19 1/4"-19"-19" (shorter measurements in the larger sizes because wider shoulders), bind off 8 sts mid under sleeve = 66-70-74-78-82-86 sts remain on needle. Put piece aside and Make another sleeve.

YOKE:
Slip sleeves on to same circular needle as body where armholes were bound off = 313-337-361-393-425-457 sts. Insert 1 marker in all transitions between sleeves and body (= 4 markers). Continue in stockinette st and pattern as before, AT THE SAME TIME on next row from RS beg dec for RAGLAN – see explanation above (= 8 sts dec). Repeat dec on every other row a total of 20-21-22-22-23-24 times, and then on every row 3-4-5-7-8-9 times. After all dec for raglan 129-137-145-161-177-193 sts remain on needle. Work 2 ridges over all sts AT THE SAME TIME on first row dec 20-26-32-45-50-58 sts evenly = 109-111-113-116-127-135 sts. Bind off.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew the openings under the sleeves. Sew the buttons on to the band.

Ros 09.04.2017 - 17:19:

Thanks for your help. However, i have another question - from Row 3 onwards do i knit A1 followed by B followed by C with the stocking stitch inbetween or do i try to follow the ACB configuration as laid out in Row 1. This pattern is exquisite and I would like to do it correctly. Must say I am finding it a little confusing as i am not used to knitting off a chart.

DROPS Design 12.04.2017 kl. 13:00:

Dear Mrs Ros, you will always have to work as explained, ie: from RS: 5 sts in garter st (= band), A.1 A (= 2 sts), A.1 C (= 15 sts), stocking st over the next 52-52-52-64-68-72 sts , A.1 A ( = 2 sts), A.1B over the next 48-64-80-80-96-112 sts (= repeat A.1B over these sts), A1.C (= 15 sts), stocking st over the next 52-52-52-64-68-72 sts, finish with A.1 A (= 2 sts), A.1 C ( = 15 sts) and 5 sts in garter st (= band). ie on half back piece, you will work A.1A, A.1C, on front piece piece: A.1A, repeat A.1B and finish with A.1C, on half back piece piece A.1A, A.1C with stocking st between diagrams and 5 front band sts on each side. Happy knitting!

Ros 31.03.2017 - 13:13:

Hi. I am really keen to give this a try. However I am not used to knitting with charts. Do the rows number from the bottom or top of the chart

DROPS Design 31.03.2017 kl. 13:36:

Dear Ros, start reading diagram from RS from the bottom corner on the right side towards the left, and from WS from the left to the right. Read more about diagrams here. Happy knitting!

Els-Marie 01.05.2016 - 18:02:

Mycket trevlig stickning.

Shamim 18.02.2016 - 15:41:

Hello, I absolutely love your patterns. I have started this design in drops 160-16 and am unclear as to A1.A. When it says A=2 stitches, does that mean knit two together and also do the yarn over as part of the stitch, or do I not do this yarn over but the one that starts section A1.C? I hope to hear from you soon? Kindest Regards, Shamim

DROPS Design 18.02.2016 kl. 16:37:

Dear Shanim, A.1 A is worked over 2 sts, ie on 1st row = K2 tog, YO. A.1C is worked over 15 sts, ie start on first row with K2 tog. Happy knitting!

Kristin 09.02.2016 - 12:42:

DROPS Design 11.02.2016 kl. 15:10:

Hei Kristin. Jeg taenker du maaske strikker diagrammet/mönstret forkert. Husk at alle pinde (baade ret og vrang) vises i diagrammet.

Doris 11.01.2016 - 17:56:

Also alles aufgetrennt, zu Nadelstärke 3,5 gewechselt. Soweit so gut.

Das Muster geht bei 213 M genau auf, wenn Sie genau nach der genannten Reihenfolge stricken: 5 M Blende + 2 M A.1A + 15 M A.1C + 52 M glatt re + 2 M A.1A + 48 M A.1B (= 3x A.1B, A.1B hat 16 M) + 15 M A.1C + 52 M glatt re + 2 M A.1A + 15 M A.1C + 5 M kraus re = 213 M.

Gery Mol 03.08.2015 - 22:15:
