Sorry, last question (I hope) - can I replace the false english rib with english rib? The stitches are about the same but the rows are different, would that totally throw off the raglan seams? Because this yarn is so fluffy and you're increasing on every other row, I'm finding it really hard to see the pattern in the few rows I've knitted and it just doesn't look right. Wish I could translate all the other comments and see if others had this problem!

Dear Mrs Atlija, you can work another pattern but remember to check your gauge. You may have to knit some cm before pattern can be visible (make a swatch first to get used to work the pattern and see after some cm how it will look). Remember you can also get help from your DROPS store. Happy knitting!

Sorry for all the questions! I'm past the casting on now and trying to figure out the False English Rib! I've read the instructions and watched the instructional video and they don't seem to jive? In round 1 and 2 of False English Rib where it says "1 stitch in garter stitch" I've been doing it as a knit stitch in both rounds, is that wrong? I wish the instructions were a little more clear! Thank you for your answers and your patience!

Dear Mrs Atlija, when you work garter st in the round, you will work alternately K 1 round, P1 round - the st worked in garter st in the False English rib will be worked K on 1st round and P on 2nd round (= Round 1: K1, YO, slip 1 as if to P - Round 2: P1, K tog YO ans slipped st). Happy knitting!

There are 9 stitches added in the 2nd row anyways, would this really affect the pattern that much if I added them into the cast on instead of the 2nd row? I didn't get my yarn from a store, I ordered online from Nordicmart.
20.03.2015 - 17:26DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Atlija, you are right, you can cast on 9 sts more and then don't increase these 9 sts on 2nd round - check then by the neck if you like to keep these 9 sts extra or dec them. You can contact Nordicmart also per mail or telephone if requested, they'll answer. Happy knitting!

I did cast on with 2 needles, I have extra big loops but bottom of stitches where connected istill very tight. Someone suggested stretchy or provisional cast on. What if I add the 9 sts that are added into the 2nd row into the number of cast on stitches? Would that affect look of the pattern after? Or should I try the stretchy or provisional cast on - the provisional allows me to pick the neck edges easier at the end where you have to knit 2 ridges of garter stitch. .
19.03.2015 - 19:17DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Atlija, if you add some sts, this will then affect pattern, you will have to distribute them and adapt rest of pattern. There are different techniques to cast on, you can try to find the one you rather and adjust this way. Remember you will get tips & advice from your DROPS store. Happy knitting!

Hi, I did a swatch, and my tension is fine - however, I've just cast on 59 stitches to start the pattern and it doesn't look big enough to fit loosely around the neck as shown in the photo, I usually cast on tightly and did do it looser than normal, is there an alternative way to cast on on ensure my neck won't be too tight? Thank you! So happy you have this section to ask questions!
19.03.2015 - 00:18DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Atlija, you can cast on with a larger needdle or with 2 needles. Happy knitting!

Dear Mrs Atlija, that's correct the increase for raglan will be done when working round 2 of false English rib over body. Happy knitting!

Buon lavoro!
