GARTER ST (back and forth on needle):
K all rows. 1 ridge = K 2 rows.
----------------------------------------------------------

SHAWL:
Cast on 108 sts on circular needle size 5 mm / US 8 with Delight and work in garter st back and forth as follows:
Row 1 (= from RS): Work 108 sts, turn piece.
Row 2 (= from WS): Work back.
Row 3: Work 106 sts, turn piece.
Row 4: Work back.
Row 5: Work 104 sts, turn piece.
Row 6: Work back.
Row 7: Work 102 sts, turn piece.
Row 8: Work back.
Continue like this by working 2 sts less every other row until 2 sts remain. Work back and forth over these 2 sts and then work 2 rows over all 108 sts = 1 fan.
Work next row as follows from RS: bind off somewhat loosely the first 32 sts, work the rest of row and cast on somewhat loosely 32 new sts at the end of row. K 1 row back on WS.
Continue to work fans the same way by repeating from 1st row until there are 9 fans.
Loosely bind off and fasten the tails.
