How would you convert this to work in the round since you won’t be turning it around?
14.11.2018 - 04:15DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Hofer, you would have to work the double seed stitch pattern as follows: Round 1 & 2: K1, P1 - Round 3 & 4: P1, K1. The decreases at the top of hat are worked in garter stitch (= K1 round, P1 round) - adjust the decrease round so that they are done on a round with K sts. Happy knitting!

I've completed the 21cm of double moss st and I am stuck because I am not understanding the decreasing. Do I knit garter stitch 3 rows and on row 4 start decreasing like the video by knitting three and knit 2 stitches together? and continue on like this until row 20? I'd appreciate if you can explain further of this part. Thank you.
24.08.2018 - 09:30DROPS Design answered:
Dear Theresa, you're right: when you reach 21 cm you have to start to work garter sts, and follow the instructions given so on row 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24 you've to decrease as indicated. You can decrease as explained in the video by knitting 2 sts together. Happy knitting!

Just curious - the pattern mentions a DOUBLE SEED stitch - but the description looks like its knit 1 purl 1 to end of row, then next row is purl 1, knit 1. Itsn't double seed st. Knit 2, purl 2 to end of row, then purl 2 knit 2? ALso, just saw the video for making the hat and the technique looks really different - maybe its just the way the demonstrator purls - but it looks different then the way I do it!!! Am I missing something?
23.02.2018 - 17:12DROPS Design answered:
Dear Jan, by double seed stitch here we mean that it is doubled vertically, not horizontally. So of you look at it, it is kind of elongated, two knit and two purl stitches above each other. As for the purl, there are many ways to make a purl stitch, this particular one is a Northern Eurpean way to purl. Happy Knitting!

Why are there 2 yarn types listed (Nepal and Nepal Mix) are you to switch yarns at some point? Did I miss something? Or can you use either yarn type?
23.01.2018 - 22:33DROPS Design answered:
Dear Jan, DROPS Nepal is available in 2 kind of yarns: unicolour and mix (depending on the colour). Colour 0501 used here is a "mix" colour - see also shadecard. Happy knitting!

When piece measures 20-21 cm / 8"-8 1/4" (make sure that last row worked is from RS), work in GARTER ST - see explanation above - until finished measurements AT THE SAME TIME dec every 4th row as follows: Row 4: Dec 16-18 sts evenly (= approx. every 5th st) = 64-70 sts on needle. Row 8: Dec 13-14 sts (= approx. 5th st) = 51-56 sts. Row 12: Dec 10-11 sts (= approx. 5th st) = 41-45 sts. Row 16: Dec 9-9 sts (= approx. 5th st) = 32-36 sts. Row 20: K 2 tog across = 16-18 sts.
