FILLING TIP:
Gradually fill some cotton wool in the animal when working.

CROCHET TIP:
Beg every dc round with 1 ch (this does not replace first dc) and finish with 1 sl st in first dc from beg of round.
Turn every dc row with 1 ch - this ch does not replace first dc on row.

DECREASE TIP:
Dec 1 dc by working 2 sts tog.
This is done as follows: Insert hook in first st and pull thread through, insert hook in next st and pull thread through, make 1 YO and pull thread through all 3 sts on hook.

----------------------------------------------------------

SMALL DINOSAUR:
Worked from the top of head, down the neck, along the body and out to the tail. Work the legs separately and fasten. Work spikes at the end.
READ FILLING TIP!

HEAD, BODY AND TAIL:
Work 4 ch with army green on hook size 3 mm and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch. READ CROCHET TIP!
ROUND 1: Work 6 dc in ch-ring.
ROUND 2: * Work 1 dc in first dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 9 dc.
ROUND 3: * Work 1 dc in each of the first 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 12 dc. Turn piece and work back from WS.
ROW 4-6: Work 3 rows with 1 dc in every dc back and forth (= opening for snout, which is worked later).
ROUND 7: Now work in the round again (insert 1 marker at beg of round). Work the first 2 dc tog – SEE DECREASE, then 1 dc in each of the next 8 dc and work the last 2 dc tog = 10 dc.
ROUND 8-14: Work 1 dc in every dc in the round without finishing every round, then work 1 dc in each of the first 5 sts to end up mid on top of neck - now rounds beg her.
ROUND 15: 1 dc in each of the first 3 dc, 2 dc in each of the next 4 dc, 1 dc in each of the last 3 dc = 14 dc.
ROUND 16: Work the first 2 dc tog, then 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, 2 dc in each of the next 4 sts, 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, and work the last 2 dc tog = 16 dc.
ROUND 17: Work 1 dc in each of the first 14 dc, turn with 1 ch. Then work back and forth a piece for chest.
ROW 18 (WS): Skip the first 2 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 11 dc, turn with 1 ch.
ROW 19 (RS): Skip the first 2 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 8 dc, turn with 1 ch.
ROW 20 (WS): Skip the first 2 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 5 dc, turn with 1 ch.
ROUND 21: Now work in the round again - work dc around the entire opening - inc evenly so that there are 20 dc in total, then work until mid under belly.
ROUND 22: Work 1 dc in every dc but in 2 dc mid on top of back work 2 dc = 22 dc – insert 1 marker in the middle of these dc.
ROUND 23-25: Work 1 dc in every dc.
ROUND 26-29: Work 1 dc in every dc but dec 1 st on each side of marker mid on top of back (i.e. dec 2 sts on every round). After 29th round 14 dc remain.
ROUND 30-33: Work 1 dc in every st but dec 1 st mid on top of back (dec alternately before and after marker). After 33rd round 10 dc remain.
ROUND 34-36: Work 1 dc in every dc.
ROUND 37-42: Work 1 dc in every dc but dec 1 dc mid under tail on all rounds.
After round 42 there are 4 sts remaining. Cut the thread, baste the yarn end around the opening, tighten tog and fasten.

SNOUT:
Work 10 dc with army green around the opening at the front of head. Work 1 round with 1 dc in every dc, then 1 round where all dc are worked tog 2 by 2. Cut the thread, put some cotton wool in snout, baste the yarn end around the opening, tighten tog and fasten.

LEG:
Work 4 ch with army green and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: Work 5 dc in ch-ring.
ROUND 2: Work 2 dc in every dc = 10 dc.
ROUND 3-6: Work 1 dc in every dc, fasten off.
Work a total of 4 legs like this. Fill some cotton wool in them and sew them to the underside of body.

Continue to work as follows: * 3 ch, skip approx. 1 cm and work 1 dc *, repeat until mid back of head and finish with 1 sl st. Fasten off.

Embroider eyes and mouth with black.
----------------------------------------------------------

LARGE DINOSAUR:
Work as small dinosaur, but on hook size 4 mm with Paris. Head, body and tail are worked with light purple. Snout, legs and spikes are worked with powder pink.

Steffi 12.01.2019 - 23:19:

Muchas gracias.

Beverley 31.10.2018 - 17:04:

On rounds 4-6 must we join with a slip st , 1 chain then turn

Teresa 16.07.2018 - 15:33:

Don’t understand row 4-6. Pattern says to turn to wrong side and then work in rows. How do you go from rounds to rows and then then round 7 says to work in rounds again? Very confusing. Please give clear instructions. Thank you.

DROPS Design 16.07.2018 kl. 16:10:

Dear Teresa, after round 3 has been worked turn work and crochet next row (= row 4) from WS with 1 st in each st to the end of row (= until all sts have been worked), then turn and crochet row 5 from RS, turn and work row 6 from WS. Now turn to work again from RS and work 1 st in each st and 1 st in each end/beg of rows 4-6 to crochet now in the round again (dec on round 7 as explained). Happy crocheting!

Vanina Guilbaud 13.06.2018 - 13:24:

Buon lavoro!

Elaine Thompson 25.07.2017 - 06:42:

I don't understand Round 21. Are there 20 sts total after finishing this round? What do you mean by then working until mid under belly? Thank you for your help.

DROPS Design 25.07.2017 kl. 09:46:

Dear Mrs Thompson, after you have worked 20 sc in total in the round, continue with 1 sc in each sc until mid under belly, so that next round will start from mid under belly. Happy ccrocheting!
