---------------------------------------------------------

HAT:
Worked back and forth on circular needle and sewn tog mid back when finished. Cast on 70-74-78 sts incl 1 edge st in each side on circular needle size 4.5 mm with Big Delight. Work rib as follows (1st row = RS): 1 edge st in GARTER ST - see explanation above, K 1, * P 2 and K 2 *. When rib measures 4-4-5 cm, change to circular needle size 5.5 mm and K 1 row while AT THE SAME TIME dec 1-2-0 sts evenly = 69-72-78 sts. Work in garter st back and forth until piece measures 12-13-14 cm. Now insert 2 markers in the piece, 23-24-26 sts apart. On next row from RS dec as follows: K tog the first 2 sts, work until 2 sts remain before marker and K 2 tog 2 times, repeat at next marker and work the last 2 sts tog (= 6 sts dec). Repeat dec every other row a total of 8-9-10 times = 21-18-18 sts remain on needle. On next row K all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten. The hat measures approx. 17-19-20 cm vertically.

ASSEMBLY:
Beg at the bottom of hat and sew tog inside 1 edge st along rib, then sew hat tog in front loop of outermost st upwards along sts in garter st.

Jill Provencher 19.01.2015 - 02:31:

In the Big Brother hat and shawl pattern no db-002-bn, after having knitted the 8" on the shawl, it says to bind off. Should there not be a gradual decrease to fit around neck?

DROPS Design 19.01.2015 kl. 14:11:

Dear Mrs Provencher, this is a triangular shawl, ie you cast off all sts when piece measures 8" measured along mid st. The shawl is tied together on mid back in the picture. Happy knitting!

Roxane 11.12.2014 - 14:20:

Knapp i halsen? Svårt att förstå enligt beskrivningen. Mvh

DROPS Design 23.01.2014 kl. 11:30:

Hej Monica.

Bon tricot!
