Instructions state to work back piece separately from front pieces. How do you do that on circular needles? As per pattern, I have the next row which is front left and not back piece. What do I do? Knit the front panels first then back?
14.03.2020 - 15:19DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Ladds, after you have cast off the sts for armholes + neck, cut the yarn; slip the stitches for front piece on another needle/a thread/a stitch holder and work the stitches on back piece - see here how to work stocking stitch back and forth on a circular needle. Happy knitting!

Sørg for at du lukker løst af! God fornøjelse!

Opskrift w-032-bn. Jeg forstår ikke aflukningen på ærmet. Ryg-/forstykke aflukkes når arb er 40 cm. Ærmet aflukkes når det er 34 cm? Ærmets gab bliver således alt for kort iflg. opskriften!

When piece measures 38-42-46-50-54 cm, cast off the middle 18-20-22-24-24 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately. On next row from the neck, dec 1 st = 13-14-14-14-16 sts remain on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 40-44-48-52-56 cm. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: = 18-20-22-23-25 sts. Then cast off for armhole in the side as on back piece. At the same time 2 cm after dividing for armhole and neck, dec 1 st towards the neck. Repeat dec every 2 cm 2-3-4-4-4 more times = 13-14-14-14-16 sts remain on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 40-44-48-52-56 cm. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Work as right front piece but reversed. SLEEVE: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 30-32-32-34-34 sts on double pointed needles size 4 mm with dark purple. P 1 round – continue in garter st and with stripes as on bottom of body. Switch to double pointed needles size 5 mm and continue in stocking st - insert a marker at beg of round. READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SECTION BEFORE CONTINUING! INCREASE: When piece measures 8 cm, inc 1 st on each side of marker. Repeat inc every 4-4-3½-3½-3½ cm 4-5-7-8-9 more times = 40-44-48-52-54 sts. When piece measures 28-32-35-40-45 cm, cast off 6 sts mid under sleeve (i.e. 3 sts on each side of marker) and work back and forth on needle until finished measurements. Then cast off at beg of every row in each side: 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 1-1-2-2-2 times, then cast off 2 sts in each side until piece measures 33-37-41-46-51 cm, finally cast off 3 sts 1 time in each side. Cast off the remaining sts, piece measures approx. 34-38-42-47-52 cm. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams and sew in sleeves. COLLAR: Worked back and forth on circular needle size 4 mm from mid front. Start by knitting up sts on the left side of the 14-14-14-16-16 sts cast off mid front - knit up with moss green inside 1 st as follows: Approx. 22 to 30 sts up to shoulder, insert a marker, approx. 20 to 28 sts over back piece, insert a marker and 22 to 30 sts down along the other side of neck (do not knit up over the 14-14-14-16-16 sts cast off mid front) = approx. 64 to 88 sts. K 1 row from WS. Continue in GARTER ST and with STRIPES 2 – see explanation above. AT THE SAME TIME every 6th row, inc 1 st on each side of marker on each shoulder (inc by working 2 sts in 1 st). When collar measures 8-8-8-10-10 cm, cast off, cast off from WS on last row of 1 ridge. Place left part of neck edge over right and fasten towards the 14-14-14-16-16 sts cast off at the bottom of neck. |
