In the crochet border the second row reads "ROW 2: Work sl st to first ch space, 1 sc, ch 5," - What is does work sl st mean? And how many of the sl's do you do? The rest I undertstand to be - work this SL stich til you get to the open chain space/loop from previous row, 1 single crochet, then chain 5 to the next "open" loop, repeat.
08.12.2023 - 15:52DROPS Design answered:
Dear Christina, sl st = slip stitch. So you work 1 slip stitch in each stitch until you reach the first chain space. Then, in the chain space, work 1 single crochet and chain 5; in the next and following chain spaces, work 1 single crochet and chain 5 (in the chain spaces in each corner work: 1sc, chain 5, 1sc, chain 5 then go to the next loop). To end the round, work 1 slip stitch in the first single crochet. Happy crocheting!

Hej. Ja garnet bör räcka till det. Lycka till!

Hi. Does this scarf really take 2 balls of lace yarn? Several other shawl patterns use 2 balls and finish up much larger. Thank you for your wonderful yarns and patterns! I always go to you first when I want a project.:=)
17.11.2016 - 19:05DROPS Design answered:
Dear Julie, you need 100 g Lace, ie 2 balls 50 g each in Lace + 100 g Cotton Viscose, ie 2 balls 50 g each in Cotton Viscose. Happy knitting!

16.04.2012 - 09:15DROPS Design answered:
På 40cm strikker du ca 100p ifølge strikkefastheden. På 100 p har du taget ud på hver 4 = ca 25m + dem du startede med. Det bliver da ca 15 cm + blondekanten. God fornøjelse!

DROPS 136-28 |

KNITTING TIP: Work the first 2 sts on row (seen from RS) in GARTER ST until finished measurements to avoid the edge from curling up. GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. PATTERN: See diagram M.1 and M.2. 1 square in chart = 2 rows. INCREASE TIP (from RS): Work until 1 st remains. Inc 1 st by getting the thread between 2 sts from previous row - K this st twisted, i.e. work in back loop of st instead of front to avoid holes. DECREASE TIP (from RS): Work until 3 sts remain. Dec by K 2 sts tog. --------------------------------------------------------- SHAWL: Cast on 4 sts on circular needle size 4 mm with 1 thread Cotton Viscose and 1 thread Lace. 1st row = RS. Read KNITTING TIP. Work chart M.1 - see explanation above, while AT THE SAME TIME inc at end of every 4th row - see INCREASE TIP. When piece measures approx. 40 cm from cast on edge, work 2 rows without inc. Then work chart M.2 - while AT THE SAME TIME dec 1 st at end of every 4th row - see DECREASE TIP above. Cast off when 4 sts remain. CROCHET EDGE: From RS crochet an edge around the shawl. Use Cotton Viscose and hook size 3.5 mm. ROW 1: * 1 dc, 4 ch, skip 1 cm *, repeat from *-*. ROW 2: Work sl st to first ch-loop, 1 dc, ch 5, * 1 dc in next ch-loop, ch 5 *, repeat from *-* around, finish with 1 sl st in 1st dc. In the ch-loop in each corner work from *-* 2 times. ROW 3: Work sl st to first ch-loop, 1 dc, ch 6, * 1 dc in next ch-loop, ch 6 *, repeat from *-* around, finish with 1 sl st in 1st dc. In the ch-loop in each corner work from *-* 2 times. BLOCKING: Place the shawl in lukewarm water until it is soaking wet. Carefully squeeze the water out of the shawl - do not twist the shawl - then roll the shawl in a towel and squeeze to remove more water - the shawl will now only be moist. Place the shawl on a carpet or mattress - carefully stretch it out to size and fasten it with pins in every ch-loop. Leave to dry. Repeat the process when the garment has been washed. |
