Gauge: 15 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm on larger needles in stockinette st.

Garter st, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows.

Knitting tips (for neck): All decs are made from right side. Dec inside 7 edge sts knit in the pattern as follows:
After 7 edge sts: Slip 1 st as if to knit, K 1, psso. Before 7 edge sts: K 2 tog.

Measuring tips: The measurements on the diagram show the garment as held up.

Back: Loosely cast on 77-83-89-95-101 sts on larger needles. Change to smaller needles and knit 3 rows rib as follows (row 1 = right side): K 1 (edge st knit in garter st), K 1, * P 1, K 2 *, repeat from * - *, finish with P 1, K 1 and K 1 (edge st knit in garter st). Change to larger needles and stockinette st. When the piece measures 20 cm dec 1 st at each side every 9 cm a total of 4 times = 69-75-81-87-93 sts. When the piece measures 53-54-55-56-57 cm bind off for armhole at each side every other row: 4 sts 1 time, 3 sts 0-0-1-1-1 time, 2 sts 0-1-1-2-3 times and 1 st 3-4-3-3-3 times = 55-55-57-59-61 sts remain. When the piece measures 69-71-73-75-77 cm knit 3 rows rib (= P 1, K 1) over the center 35 sts (the remaining sts are knit in stockinette st as before). On the next row bind off the center 21 sts for the neck = 17-17-18-19-20 sts remain on each shoulder. Keep the 7 sts at neck edge in rib (edge st in garter st) to finished measurements. Bind off when the piece measures 72-74-76-78-80 cm.

Right front: Loosely cast on 45-48-51-54-57 sts on larger needles. Change to smaller needles and knit 3 rows rib as follows from center front edge (row 1 =
right side): K 1 (edge st knit in garter st), * K 1, P 1 * 3 times (these 7 sts are the button band), * K 2, P 1 *, repeat from * - * to last 2 sts, K 1, K 1 (edge st knit in garter st). Change to larger needles and stockinette st, keeping the 7 buttonband sts the same to finished measurements.
When the piece measures 20 cm bind off at the side as on back = 41-44-47-50-53 sts.
Read the entire next section before knitting:
Neck shaping: When the piece measures 48-49-51-52-54 cm dec 1 st for the neck every other row 12 times, then every 4 rows 5 times - see knitting tips.
Armhole: At the same time when the piece measures 53-54-55-56-57 cm bind off for armhole at the side as on back.
After all armhole and neck shaping is complete 17-17-18-19-20 sts remain on shoulder. Continue in stockinette st and 7 buttonband sts as before. Bind off when the piece measures 72-74-76-78-80 cm.

Left front: Cast on and knit the same as the right, reversing all shaping - begin rib from side edge as follows: K 1 (edge st knit in garter st), K 1, * P 1, K 2 *, repeat from * - * to last 7 sts, finish with * P 1, K 1 * 3 times, then K 1 (edge st knit in garter st) (these 7 sts are the button band).

Sleeve: Loosely cast on 35-35-38-38-38 sts on larger needles. Change to smaller needles and knit 3 rows rib (= K 2, P 1) keeping 1 edge st at each side in garter st. Change to larger needles and stockinette st. When the piece measures 9 cm inc 1 st at each side every 4.5-3.5-3.5-3-2.5 cm a total of 9-11-11-12-13 times = 53-57-60-62-64 sts.
When sleeve measures 48-47-46-44-43 cm bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 4 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2-2-2-1-1 times and 1 st 1-4-5-8-10 times, then bind off 2 sts at each side until the piece measures 55-56-56-56-56 cm, then bind off 3 sts at each side 1 time. The piece measures approx. 56-57-57-57-57 cm, bind off the remaining sts.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance.
Belt: Cast on 9 sts on smaller needles and knit rib as follows: K 1 (edge st knit in garter st), * K 1, P 1 *, repeat from * - * a total of 3 times, finish with K 1, K 1 (edge st knit in garter st). When belt measures approx. 120-150 cm (desired length), bind off in pattern.
