INCREASING TIP:
Inc 1 st by making 1 YO, on next round work YO into back of loop to avoid a hole.

DECREASING TIP:
Dec as follows (beg 3 sts before marker): K2 tog, K2 (marker sits mid between these 2 sts), slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso.

--------------------------------------------------------

MITTEN:
Cast on 40-40-40-45 sts on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm / US 4 with Alpaca Boucle and K 1 round. Continue in rib = K2/ P3. When the rib measures 5-5-5.5-6 cm / 2"-2"-2 1/4"-2 3/8" change to double pointed needles size 4 mm / US 6 and continue with stockinette st. AT THE SAME TIME dec 6-4-2-7 sts evenly on round 1 = 34-36-38-38 sts. When piece measures 8-9-10-11 cm / 3 1/8"-3½"-4"-4 3/8" inc 1 st each side of first st on round for thumb – See INCREASING TIP! Repeat the inc each side of the inc sts on every other round a total of 5 times = 44-46-48-48 sts. Now slip the 11 thumb sts on a stitch holder. Continue in the round AT THE SAME TIME cast on 1 new st behind the thumb on next round = 34-36-38-38 sts. When mitten measures approx 20-22-24-25 cm / 8"-8 3/4"-9½"-9 3/4" (try mitten on for size, approx 4 cm / 1½'' remain to finished measurement) insert 1 marker at beg of round and 1 marker after 17-18-19-19 sts. Now dec 1 st on each side of both markers – See DECREASING TIP. Repeat dec on every other round 2 times more and then on every round a total of 4 times = 6-8-10-10 sts left on needle. On next round K2 tog across the round. Cut thread, pull thread through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten well.

THUMB:
Slip the 11 thumb sts from stitch holder back on double pointed needles size 4 mm / US 6. Pick up 4-4-4-5 sts behind the thumb = 15-15-15-16 sts. Work stockinette st in the round until thumb measures approx 4-4.5-5-5.5 cm / 1½"-1 3/4"-2"-2 1/4" (try mitten on for size, approx ½ cm / 1/4" remain to finished measurement). Work 2 rounds, AT THE SAME TIME K2 tog over all sts on these 2 rounds. Cut thread, pull thread through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten well.

Work the other mitten the same way, but mirrored, i.e. inc for thumb on each side of last st on round (instead of on each side of first st on round).

Der Handschuh fällt ziemlich groß aus und das Bündchen wird dann sehr locker
