Jacket:

Knitting tension: 22 stitches x 30 rows with needle size 3.5 mm and stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm. Remember needle size is only a guide.

Pattern: See diagram. The pattern is seen from the right side. 1 square = 1 stitch x 1 row.

Ridge/Garter stitch (back and forth on needle): 1 ridge = Knit 2 rows.
Ridge/Garter stitch (in the round): 1 ridge = 2 rounds. Knit 1 round and purl 1 round.

Buttonholes: When piece measures 6-6-6 (6-6-6) cm, 11.5-12-11.5 (12-12-12.5) cm, 17.5-18-17 (18-18-19) cm, 23.5-24-23 (24-24-26) cm, 29-30-28.5 (30-30-33) cm, x-x-34 (36-36-39,5) cm, x-x-x (x-42-46) cm, work buttonholes from the right side on the right front piece as follows: Cast off the 3rd and 4th stitch from the edge and cast on 2 new stitches over the cast off stitches on the next row.
--------------------------------------------------------

Body: The jacket is worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 242-274-298 (330-362-386) stitches (incl. 5 edge stitches in each side = bands) with circular needle size 3.5 mm and red and work M.1. The outermost 5 stitches in each side (=bands) are worked the whole time in garter stitch. Then work M.2 upwards to finished length (the bands continued in garter stitch). Remember to work buttonholes on right front piece (see description above). Remember the knitting tension. When piece measures 25-26-29 (31-34-37) cm, work the next row as follows: 32-36-39 (43-47-50) stitches front piece, cast off 4 stitches for the armhole, 54-62-68 (76-84-90) stitches back piece, cast off 4 stitches for the armhole, 32-36-39 (43-47-50) stitches front piece. Each piece is finished separately.

Front piece: = 32-36-39 (43-47-50) stitches. Continue to cast off for armholes every 2nd row: 3 stitches x 1, 2 stitches x 1-2-2 (2-2-2), 1 stitch x 2 = 25-27-30 (34-38-41) stitches. When piece measures 30-31-35 (37-43-47) cm, cast off for neck every 2nd row: 7-9-10 (11-13-14) stitches x 1, 3 stitches x 1, 2 stitches x 1, 1 stitch x 2. Cast off when piece measures 35-37-41 (44-50-54) cm.

Back piece: = 54-62-68 (76-84-90) stitches. Continue to cast off for armholes as for front piece = 40-44-50 (58-66-72) stitches. When piece measures 33-35-39 (42-48-52) cm, cast off the middle 12-16-18 (20-24-26) stitches for neck. Then decrease towards neck on each side every 2nd row: 2 stitches x 1, 1 stitch x 1. Cast off when piece measures 35-37-41 (44-50-54) cm.

Sleeve: Cast on 34-34-36 (38-38-42) stitches with double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and red and work 2 ridges. Then work M.2 upwards. At the same time, after the garter stitch edge, increase mid under sleeve: 2 stitches x 5-7-8 (10-16-16) in Sizes 0/3 + 6/9 + 12/18 months: Every 5th round, Size 2 years: Alternately every 4th and 5th round, Size 3/4 years: Alternately every 3rd and 4th round, Size 5/6 years: Every 4th round = 44-48-52 (58-70-74) stitches. When piece measures 11-14-16 (18-21-25) cm, cast off 4 stitches mid under sleeve and finish working back and forth on needle. Then cast off for sleeve cap in each side every 2nd row: 3 stitches x 1-1-1 (1-2-2), 2 stitches x 0-0-1 (2-2-2), 1 stitch x 6-7-5 (3-1-1), 2 stitches x 0-0-1 (2-2-2), 3 stitches x 1-1-1 (1-2-2), cast off. Piece measures approx. 17-21-23 (25-28-32) cm.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Knit up approx. 60-86 stitches around neck (not over bands) from the wrong side with circular needle size 3.5 mm and work M.1 top down for 5-6-6 (7-7-8) cm, back and forth on needle from mid front. The 2 outermost stitches in each side are worked in garter stitch. At the same time, when the collar measures 4-5-5 (6-6-7) cm, cast off in each side every row: 1 stitch x 3, cast off. (Remember the right side will be on the outside when the collar is turned down.)

Crochet edge: Work a crochet edge in red tweed Tynn Chenille around the whole of the collar, around sleeves, around bottom of body and in the transition between the flounce and the jacket as follows: Work a row of double crochets with hook size 3 mm from the right side around the collar - insert the hook between the two ridges. The next row is worked as follows: * 3 chain stitches, 1 double crochet in the first of these 3 chain stitches, 3 double crochets *, repeat from *-*. Sew in sleeves and sew on buttons.

SOCKS:

Sizes: 3 - 6/9 - 12/18 months (2 - 3/4 - 5/6 years).
Sock foot length: 10-11-12 (14-15) cm.
Materials: DROPS Double pointed needles sizes 3 and 3.5 mm.
----------------------------------------------------------

Knitting tension: 22 stitches x 30 rows with needle size 3.5 mm and stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm. Remember needle size is only a guide!

Rib: * K1, P1 *. Repeat from *-*.

Ridge/Garter stitch (in the round): 1 ridge = 2 rounds. Knit 1 round and purl 1 round.
---------------------------------------------------------

Sock: Cast on 48-50-52 (54-56) stitches with double pointed needles size 3 mm and red and work rib for 10-12-12 (13-14) cm. When piece measures 4-5-5 (5-6) cm knit 3 stitches together mid back, work 4 rounds and then knit 3 stitches together mid back = 44-46-48 (50-52) stitches. When piece measures 10-11-12 (13-14) cm change to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and work stocking stitch at the same time as you decrease to 36-40-40 (44-44) stitches. After 2 rounds work the next round as follows: * K2 together, 1 yarn over *. Remember the knitting tension. Work 1 round stocking stitch, now work 4-5-5.5 (7-7.5) cm stocking stitch for the upper piece over the top 8-10-10 (12-12) stitches and the remaining 28-30-30 (32-32) stitches are placed on a thread. Then knit up 8-10-12 (14-16) stitches on each side of the upper piece = 52-60-64 (72-76) stitches. Purl 1 round and then work garter stitch for 2-3-3 (4-4,5) cm. Now cast off all stitches apart from the front 8-10-10 (12-12) stitches. Work garter stitch for 9-10-11 (13-14) cm for the sole over these stitches. Cast off and sew the sole to the sock. Crochet approx. 30-40 cm of chain stitches in Chenille and thread the chain stitch cord through the row of holes.
