Bon crochet!

Thank you for the pattern. However, my hat came out HUGE!! I did use a 5 mm crochet hook and a different type of yarn, weight 4 (Red Heart super saver). The side of the hat pulls all the way to my shoulder :) I think I will line it, crochet a flower, make 2 handles and convert it to a bag. :) I should have checked the gauge.... (my fault)....

Thanks for this great looking pattern. I know that you have a note, but it might be helpful for beginners if you include in the instructions at the beginning of each round. For example...ch3 (or standing dc) in first st, 2dc in next st etc. I hope this helps those new to crochet.

Buon lavoro!

Being from the USA, I cannot work out the slouch hat pattern into inches from the metric measurements given. Would you happen to have the pattern converted to inches? I love this pattern and would really like to make the hat, but I am lost when it comes to metrics. Thanks in advance if you can help me, Priscilla Richardson North Carolina, USA

Dear Mrs Richardson, the US-English pattern gives measurements and informations with inches & US crochet hooks sizes, you can also convert here cm into inches. Happy crocheting!

Oh my! I think I messed up by not crocheting a gauge patch. I just used worsted weight yarn and size 5 crochet hooks. I have made it to the band/double crochet with double yarn part. This hat is Huge! More like a purse. I even reduced on each side of the yellow markers to try to make the hat head sized. I am now at 58 stitches and it is still to large for my head, not snug at all. When I start DC and double yarn will it get smaller? I may have wasted my time by not checking gauge.

Just finished this hat, and it is a great slouchy beret! the double yarn in the hat band is just perfect for keeping my ears warm. I used yarn leftover from a heavy worsted weight sweater with an H hook, and it fits my medium sized head well.
