Bon tricot !

In the Dutch translation this part was missing from the left front piece: At the same time when piece measures 15-15-15-17-17-17 cm knit 1 extra sts into front edge (i.e. sts number is the same, but number of sts on front edge increases and number of stocking sts are reduced). Continuing knit 1 sts into front band on every 3 – 2 – 3 - 2.5 – 2.5 – 2 cm another 5-8-6-8-9-11 times. Is my assumption right?

Hoi Grietje.

Short DROPS jacket in ”Snow” with garter stitched collar ¾ length or long sleeves. Size: S to XXXL
DROPS 104-38 |

Knitting gauge: 10 sts x 14 rows stockinette sts = 10 x 10 cm [4’’ x 4’’] Garter st: Knit all rows. Knitting tip: Each time piece is turned in middle of work slip first sts as if to knit, tighten thread and knit back, this is done to avoid holes in transitions. Measuring tip: Make all measurements along stockinette sts on front piece – i.e. not along front edge! Buttonhole: Bind off for buttonhole on right front band. 1 buttonhole = bind off 3rd st from edge and cast on 1 new st over the bound off st on next row. Bind off for buttonhole when piece measures: Size S + M + L: 1 and 3 cm [3/8” and 1 1/8”]. Size XL+XXL+XXXL: 1, 3 and 5 cm [3/8”, 1 1/8” and 2”]. Back piece: Cast on 36-40-44-48-56-60 sts (includes 1 edge sts on each side) on needles size 9 mm [US 13] with Snow. Knit 1 row garter st from WS. Continue in Rib as follows (from RS): 1 edge st, * K2, P2 * repeat from *-* and finish off with 2 purl sts and 1 edge st. When piece measures 4 cm [1½”’’] continue in stockinette sts. Remember knitting gauge! When piece measures 5 cm [2’’] inc1 st on each side. Repeat inc when piece measures 12-13-14-15-16-17 cm [4 ¾”-5 1/8”-5½”-6”-6 ¼”-6 ¾”] = 40-44-48-52-60-64 sts. When piece measures 16-17-18-19-20-21 cm [6 ¼”-6 ¾”-7”-7½”-8”-8 ¼”] bind off for armholes on each side on every other row as follows: 2 sts 1-1-2-2-3-4 times and 1 st 1-2-1-3-4-4 times = 34-36-38-38-40-40 sts. When piece measures 32-34-36-38-40-42 cm [12½”-13 3/8”-14 ¼”-15”-15 ¾”-16½”] bind off middle 12-14-14-14-16-16 sts for neckline. Continuing bind off 1 st on next row at neckline = 10-10-11-11-11-11 sts left on each shoulder. Bind off when piece measures 34-36-38-40-42-44 cm [13 3/8”-14 ¼”-15”-15 ¾”-16½”-17 ¼”]. Left front piece: Cast on 22-26-26-30-34-38 sts (includes 1 edge st on side and 5 front edge sts towards mid front) on needle size 9 mm [US 13] with Snow. Knit 1 row garter st from WS. Continue as follows – seen front RS: 1 edge st, * K2, P2 * repeat from *-* and finish with 5 front edge st. On every 6th row knit 2 extra rows but only over the outermost edge sts – Read knitting tip – Do this until piece is completed. When piece measures 4 cm [1½”] continue with stockinette sts (garter sts front edge as previously). Read entire section before knitting commences! When piece measures 5 cm [2’’] inc on side like back piece. At the same time when piece measures 5-5-5-7-7-7 cm [2”-2”-2”-2 ¾”-2 ¾”-2 ¾”] inc 1 sts within outermost edge sts on every 3rd – 4th – 3rd – 3rd – 4th -4th cm [1 1/8”-1½”-1 1/8”-1 1/8”-1½”-1½”] in total 9-8-10-10-9-9 times (incorporate new sts into front edge continuously). Therefore extra rows are knit on these sts). At the same time when piece measures 15-15-15-17-17-17 cm [6”-6”-6”-6 ¾”-6 ¾”-6 ¾”] knit 1 extra sts into front edge (i.e. sts number is the same, but number of sts on front edge increases and number of stockinette sts are reduced). Continuing knit 1 sts into front band on every 3 – 2 – 3 - 2.5 – 2.5 – 2 cm [1 1/8”-3/4”-1 1/8”-7/8”-7/8”-3/4”] another 5-8-6-8-9-11 times. At the same time when piece measures 16-17-18-19-20-21 cm [6 ¼”-6 ¾”-7”-7½”-8”-8 ¼”] bind off for armhole like back piece. When piece measures 34-36-38-40-42-44 cm [13 3/8”-14 ¼”-15”-15 ¾”-16½”-17 ¼”] bind off 10-10-11-11-11-11 outermost sts for shoulder = 20-22-22-24-24-26 sts left for collar. Measure piece from here: Collar: Knit like before over sts on needle until collar measures approx 7-8-8-8-9-9 cm [2 ¾”-3 1/8”-3 1/8”-3 1/8”-3½”-3½”]. Bind off loosely. Right front piece: Cast on and knit like left front piece but reversed. Additionally, bind off for buttonholes – see explanation above. ¾ Sleeves/Long sleeves: Knit either ¾ length or long sleeves. Figures in brackets are measurements for long sleeves. Otherwise knit sleeves exaxtly the same. Cast on 30-32-34-36-38-40 sts includes 1 edge st on each side on needles size 9 mm [US 13] with Snow. Knit 4 rounds garter sts – see explanation above. Continue in stockinette sts. When piece measures 6 cm [2 3/8’’] (18 cm [7’’]) inc 1 st on each side on every 12th cm [4 3/4”] 2 times in total = 34-36-38-40-42-44 sts. When piece measures 36-35-36-35-33-31 cm [14 ¼”-13 ¾”-14 ¼”-13 ¾”-13”-12 ¼”] (51-50-51-50-48-46 cm [20”-19 ¾”-20”-19 ¾”-19”-18”]) bind off for sleeve cap on each side on every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1-1-2-2-2-0 times and 1 sts 0-1-0-0-2-6 times. Continuing bind off 2 sts on each side until piece measures 40-40-41-41-42-42 cm [15 ¾”-15 ¾”-16 1/8”-16 1/8”-16½”-16½”] (55-55-56-56-57-57 cm [21 5/8”-21 5/8”-22”-22”-22½”-22½”]), then bind off 3 sts 1 time on each side. Bind off remaining sts, piece measures approx 42-42-43-43-44-44 cm [16½”-16½”-17”-17”-17 ¼”-17 ¼”] (57-57-58-58-59-59 cm [22½”-22½”-22 ¾”-22 ¾”-23 ¼”-23 ¼”]). Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew collar tog mid back and sew onto neck. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams in one within 1 edge st. |
