-------------------------------------------

Body: The jumper is worked in the round on circular needle and cut for armholes afterwards. Numbers in ( ) refer to men’s sizes. Cast on 160-168 (168-175) sts on circular needle size 3 mm with black and work 5 cm Rib. Change to circular needle size 5.5 mm and continue in stocking st and pattern, at the same time inc 20-36 (36-53) sts evenly on first round =180-204 (204-228) sts. Work pattern on 90-102 (102-114) sts on front piece, mirror pattern both sides and work pattern on 90-102 (102-114) sts on back piece – see diagram. Remember the knitting tension! Insert a marker each side.
When piece measures 36-38 (38-38) cm inc 4 sts each side (to be cut for armhole afterwards and not included in pattern). When piece measures 56-58 (58-58) cm cast off the middle 28-28 (28-30) sts on front piece and complete piece back and forth on needle. When piece measures 61-63 (63-63) cm cast off the middle 28-28 (28-30) sts on back piece and cast off remaining sts in black when piece measures 64-66 (66-66) cm.

Sleeve: Cast on 34-34 (36-36) sts on double pointed needles size 3 mm with black and work 5 cm Rib. Change to double pointed needles size 5.5 mm and continue in stocking st and pattern, at the same time inc 15-15 (13-15) sts evenly on first round = 49-49 (49-51) sts. At the same time after the rib inc 2 sts mid under arm on every 3rd and 4th round alternately 20 times for ladies sizes and on every 4th round 20-19 times for men’s sizes = 89 sts. When piece measures 49-45 (53-50) cm work 1 round in black stocking st and then 6 rounds in reverse stocking st (for sewing sleeve to body piece). Cast off.

Assembly: Insert a marking thread in the middle of the inc sts for armhole. Sew 2 seams on a sewing machine around the marking thread, 1st seam = ½ st from the MT, 2nd seam = ½ st from the 1st seam. Cut for armholes. Sew the shoulder seams = 19-22.5 (22.5-26) cm. Pick up approx 70 sts round the neck on double pointed needles size 3 mm with black and work 1.5 cm rib, at the same time on round 3 K3 tog in each corner, cast off after 1.5 cm. Set in sleeves as follows: sew the last row in stocking st on sleeves to row after machine seam on armhole. Turn jumper inside out and fasten piece in reverse stocking st on sleeve to body piece.
