Tips & Help

Thank you for choosing DROPS Design!

We do our best to make our patterns easy to follow.

For that purpose, each of our patterns has specific tutorial videos to help you, which you will find at the bottom of the page.

We have also step-by-step lessons to help you understand some of the techniques we use in our patterns. You'll find them here!

Pattern: See diagram. The pattern is seen from the RS. English Translations for the wording in the diagrams are given at the bottom of this pattern, and they are given in the vertical order in which they appear in the diagram.
Rib: *K1, P1 *, repeat from *-*.

Body: The jumper is worked in the round on circular needle. Cast on 156-164 sts on circular needle size 3.5 mm with off-white and work 5 cm rib. Change to circular needle size 5 mm and K 1 round, at the same time inc 33-46 sts evenly on first round = 189-210 sts. Continue in M.1. Remember the knitting tension! After 1 vertical repeat of M.1 continue in stocking st until piece measures 22-24 cm. Now divide piece in two, at the same time cast on 3 sts on the right side and 2 sts on the left side for seam for size S/M, and 2 sts each side for size M/L. Complete each piece separately.
Front piece: = 97-107 sts. Now work M.2 on the middle 21 sts, and then 5 rounds in off-white stocking st. At the same time when piece measures 32-34 cm cast off 1 st each side for armhole. Work next row as follows from RS: 5-10 off-white sts, M.3, M.3, 6-11 off-white sts. After M.3 work next row as follows from RS: 16-21 off-white sts, M.2, M.2, M.2, 16-21 off-white sts. Work 6 rows off-white and then next row as follows from RS: 2-7 off-white sts, M.2, M.2, 7-7 off-white sts, M.2, M.2, 2-7 off-white sts. After M.2 complete piece in off-white stocking st. At the same time when piece measures 57-59 cm cast off the middle 33 sts for neck and complete each side separately. Cast off to shape the neckline on every other row: 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 2 times. Cast off remaining sts on shoulder when piece measures 62-64 cm.
Back piece: = 97-107 sts. Continue as described for front piece. When piece measures 59-61 cm cast off the middle 37 sts for neck and complete each side separately. Cast off 2 sts on neckline on next row. Cast off remaining sts on shoulder when piece measures 62-64 cm.
Sleeve: Cast on 36-40 sts on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm with off-white and work 5 cm rib. Change to double pointed needles size 5 mm and K 1 round, at the same time inc 14-12 sts evenly on round = 50-52 sts. Continue in M.1 (place a repeat mid upper sleeve). Inc 2 sts mid under arm on every 3rd round 26 times = 102-104 sts. Incorporate inc sts in pattern as you go along. When piece measures 43-42 cm work 2 rounds stocking st and then M.2. After M.2 complete piece in stocking st and cast off all sts when piece measures 51-50 cm.
Assembly: Sew the shoulder seams. Sew side seams. Pick up 96 sts round the neck on circular needle size 3.5 mm with off-white and work M.4. After 19 rounds, work 1 round rib and cast off. Set in sleeves.
