Knitting gauge: 14 sts x 16 rows on needle size 6 mm / US 10 in stockinette st = 4'' x 4'' (10 x 10 cm)

Rib: *K1, P1*, repeat from *-*.

Pattern: The diagram shows the pattern from the RS side.

Front and back piece:
Knitted in the round and cut for armholes afterwards.
Cast on 148-156-160 sts on circular needle size 3.5 mm / US 4 with black and work 4 cm / 1½'' Rib.
Change to circular needle size 6mm/US 10, at the same time inc 12-12-16 sts evenly on round = 160-168-176 sts. Continue in pattern as follows: M.1, M.2 (beg by arrow and work pattern on front piece, beg by arrow again and work pattern on back piece), M.3 and then complete piece in black. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! When piece measures 32-34-34 cm inc 4 sts each side for armhole (to be cut for armholes afterwards and not included in pattern).
When piece measures 58-60-60 cm bind off 24-26-26 sts mid front for neck and complete piece back and forth on needle. Bind off to shape the neckline on every other row: 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 2 times. At the same time when piece measures 61-62-62 cm cast of the middle 30-32-32 sts on back for neck and dec 1 st on neckline on next row.
Bind off remaining sts when piece measures 62-64-64 cm.

Sleeve: Knitted round on double pointed needles. Cast on 36-36-40 sts on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm / US 4 with black and work 5 cm / 2'' Rib.
Change to needle size 6 mm / US 10 and continue in pattern as described for body piece – make sure to place a pattern repeat mid upper sleeve- at the same time inc 4-4-2 sts evenly on first round = 40-40-42 sts.
At the same time after Rib, inc 2 sts mid under arm a total of 22-23-22 times on every on every 3rd round for size S and on every other and every 3rd round alternately for size M + L = 84-86-86 sts.
When piece measures 50-49-48 cm knit 2 cm / 3/4'' in reverse stockinette st = edge for sewing on sleeve to body piece. Bind off and knit the other sleeve.

Assembly: Insert a marking thread in the middle of the inc sts for armhole each side. Make 2 seams each side on your sewing machine, the first seam ½ st from the MT and the other one ½ st from the first one.
Cut the piece between these for armholes. Sew shoulder seams.

Neckline: Pick up approx 86 sts round the neck on needle size 3.5 mm / US 4 with black and work 3 cm / 1'' stockinette st, P 1 round ( = folding edge), 3 cm / 1'' stockinette st, bind off. Fold double towards WS and fasten.
Set in sleeves from the RS as follows: sew in the last row before the edge in reverse stockinette sts on sleeves to the first row after the seam in the sts for cutting on body piece. Turn the jumper inside out and sew the piece in stockinette sts over the cutting edge on body piece.
