DROPS crochet hook size 3 mm / C for “Safran” or 3.5 mm/E for “Muskat”

Accessories: Poly stuffing for filling.

Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in American English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from inches to cm - click here. Crochet the turtle with Muskat or Safran, making the shell with stripes, 1 spiral for the tale, feet and head single colored.

Shell:
Crochet the shell as a big ball below from round 1 to 9. Crochet 2 more rounds, at the same time continue the increases as before = 11 rounds (Crochet 2 pieces = 1 bottom and 1 top shell)

Legs: Crochet 4 legs. Fill with poly stuffing and crochet the opening tog.

Head: Crochet a big ball round 1 – 4 = 18 sc. Crochet 10 rounds, (1 sc in each sc = 14 rounds in total).
Fill with poly stuffing and crochet the opening tog.

Eyes: Crochet as knob, but in addition crochet 1 round of 1 sc in each sc, so a total of 3 rounds.

Tale: Crochet 1 spiral.

Assembly: Put the feet, head and tale in between the bottom and top shell. Crochet around the shell with sc, push the hook through all layers so all parts are crochet tog. Note: Fill the shell with poly stuffing before it is crochet totally together.

Crochet sc’s tog. as follows: Crochet 2 sc tog. to 1 sc as follows: Push the hook through the 1st sc, pull the thread through, push the hook through the next sc, pull the thread through, yrh and pull the thread through all 3 sts on hook

BIG BALL:
1st round: Ch 3 and make a ring with a sl st.
2nd round: Crochet 6 sc around the ring, finish with a sl st in the 1st sc, ch 1.
3rd round: 2 sc in each sc = 12 sc, finish with a sl st in the 1st sc, ch 1.
4th round: *1 sc, 2 sc in the next sc*, repeat from *-* finish with a sl st in the 1st sc, ch 1 = 18 sc.
5th round: *2 sc, 2 sc in the next sc*, repeat from *-* finish with a sl st in the 1st sc, ch 1 = 24 sc.
6th round: *3 sc, 2 sc in the next sc*, repeat from *-* finish with a sl st in the 1st sc, ch 1 = 30 sc.
7th round: *4 sc, 2 sc in the next sc*, repeat from *-* finish with a sl st in the 1st sc, ch 1 = 36 sc.
8th round: *5 sc, 2 sc in the next sc*, repeat from *-* finish with a sl st in the 1st sc, ch 1 = 42 sc.
9th round: *6 sc, 2 sc in the next sc*, repeat from *-* finish with a sl st in the 1st sc, ch 1 = 48 sc.

LEGS:
1st round: Ch 3 and make a ring with a sl st in the first ch.
2nd round: Crochet 6 sc around the ring, finish with a sl st in the 1st sc, ch 1.
3rd round: 2 sc in each sc = 12 sc, finish with a sl st in the 1st sc, ch 1.
4th - 7th round: Crochet sc all around, finish with a sl st in the 1st sc, sew the thread tight.

KNOB:
1st round: Ch 3 and make a ring with a sl st in the first ch..
2nd round: Crochet 6 sc around the ring, finish with a sl st in the 1st sc.

SPIRAL:
1st row: Crochet 12 ch, turn.
2nd row: Crochet 3 dc in each ch, cut the thread.
