Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in British English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inches - click here. Gauge: COTTON CHENILLE: 14 sts x 26 rows on larger needles in stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm
(20 sts x 32 rows on larger needles in stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm )

Pattern: See chart. One chart equals one repeat of the pattern shown from the right side.

Garter Stitch, when knitting flat, knit all sts, all rows.
Garter stitch, when knitting in the round, First row - knit, Second row - purl. One «ridge» = two rows.

Binding off over the cable: When binding off over a cable bind off as follows: Knit 2, K 2 tog, and then lift one stitch over the next stitch as with normal binding off

Front: *Cast on 84-88-92 (118-124-130) sts (includes 1 edge stitch on either side for seam. The edge sts are not knitted into the pattern) on smaller needles with violet (blue) and knit 6 rows garter stitch. Change to larger circular needles and knit pattern as follows: 1 edge stitch, purl 9-11-13 (18-21-24) sts, Pattern 1 (Pattern 2) 4 times, purl 9-11-13 (18-21-24) sts, 1 edge stitch.
When the work measures 33 (34-36) cm , bind off on either side for armholes on every other row: 2-2-3 (3-3-4) sts 1 time (includes the edge sts), 4 sts 0 (1) time, 3 sts 1 (1) time, 2 sts 1-1-1 (1-2-2) times, 1 stitch 2-2-3 (1-1-2) times, then on every 4th row: 1 stitch x 1 (1) time and finally on every 6th row: 1 stitch 1 (1) time. 62-64-66 (88-90-92) sts remain.*
When the work measures 49 (51-53) cm , bind off the middle 20-22-22 (24-26-26) sts for the neck. See instructions above concerning binding off over cables. This applies to all cables on the body. Bind off at the neck edge every other row: 3 (4) sts 1 time, 2 (3) sts 1 time, 1 (2) stitch (sts) 1 (1) time, 0 (1) stitch (sts) 2 times. Bind off when the work measures 56 (58-60) cm .

Back: Cast on and knit as per the front from * to *. When the work measures 54 (56-58) cm , bind off the middle 28-30-30 (42-44-44) sts for the neck. See instructions above concerning binding off over cables. Applies to all cables on the body. Then bind off 2 sts on either side on the next row for the neck. Bind off when the work measures 56 (58-60) cm .

Sleeves: Knit the sleeve back and forth on circular needles.
Cast on 42-42-44 (58-58-62) sts (includes 1 edge sts on either side for seam) on smaller needles and knit 6 rows garter stitch. Change to larger circular needles and knit pattern upwards as follows: 1 edge stitch, purl 1-1-2 (4-4-6) sts, Pattern 3 (Pattern 4), purl 10 (12) sts, Pattern 3 (Pattern 4), purl 10 (12) sts, Pattern 3 (Pattern 4), purl 1-1-2 (4-4-6) sts, 1 edge stitch.
When the work measures 6 cm , increase on either side inside the edge stitch: 1 stitch 15-17-16 (22-24-22) times,
for S: every 6th row (every 5th row),
for M: every 5th row (alternately every 4th and every 5th row) and
for L: alternately every 5th and 6th (every 5th row). 72-76-76 (102-106-106) sts.
When the work measures 45 (44-44) cm , bind off on either side for sleeve tops on every other row as follows:
Cotton Chenille: 2 sts 1 time, 3 sts 2-2-1 times, 2 sts 1-1-2 times, 1 stitch 10-11-13 times, 2 sts 1-1-2 times, 3 sts 1-1-0 times, 4 sts 1-1-1 time, bind off.
Tynn Chenille: 4 sts 2 times, 3 sts 1-1-2 times, 2 sts 2-3-2 times, 1 st 11-11-14 times, 2 sts 2-2-1 times, 3 sts 1-1-3 times, 4 sts 2-2-0 times, bind off.
The work measures 58 (58-59) cm .

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew the sleeves to the body and sew sleeve and side seam in one. Pick up approximately 60-64 (80-90) sts around the neck on smaller double pointed needles and knit 6 rows garter stitch, bind off.
