Hi again I am working through the pattern and am on M5. Am I reading it right- all the pattern rows are I. The wrong side rather than the right side? ( eg rows 2 4 6 and 8) Thanks
25.07.2020 - 14:30DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Vanderwoude, first row in M.5 should be worked from RS and not from WS as shown currently (diagram will be edited), this means work 1st row in pattern from RS as shown in row 2 now (with lace pattern) and purl rows from WS. (at the end of diagrams, purl all stitches as on row 1). Happy knitting!

I would like to make the baby blanket. However the pattern references ‘ M6 and M7 but the diagrams don’t show any M6 or M7!! How I am to follow it? Is M1 just the 17 stitch repetition? Help! I have been knitting for 50 years and I’ve never seen such a confusing pattern! Thank you Armeda

Hi Armeda, Pattern M.6 is the diagram with the star and M.7 is the diagram with the circle. M.1 has 17 stitches to be repeated in width and 4 rows to be repeated in height. Happy knitting!

Vraag over M5.

Bon tricot!

DROPS Blanket with pattern in Alpaca. Theme: Baby blanket
DROPS Baby 13-22 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||
Pattern: See diagram M.1, M.5-M.7. The diagrams show all rows in the pattern seen from the right side. Note! The pattern is not the same both ends of the blanket. Blanket: Due to number of sts knit back and forth on circular needle. Using both ends of circular needle size 3mm (to make sure the edge becomes elastic) cast on 169 sts with Alpaca. Remove 1 needle and knit 3 rows garter sts (1st row = wrong side). Knit next row as follows (1st row = right side): Knit the outermost 8 sts each side in garter sts throughout. When dec/inc evenly on row as explained below, do not dec/inc over the 8 sts each side. Knit M.1 (over sts between the 8 sts each side). When piece measures approx 19 cm – adjust after 1 repeat of pattern – knit M.7, at the same time on the 1st row of M.7, dec 26 sts evenly on row = 143 sts. After M/7 knit M.5 as follows from the right side: M.5A (= 3 sts), M.5B over the next 120 sts and then M.5C (= 4 sts). Continue the pattern like this until piece measures approx 29 cm – adjust after 1 repeat of pattern. Now knit M.7, at the same time inc 3 sts evenly on the last row of M.7 = 146 sts. After M.7 knit M.6. When piece measures approx 64 cm - adjust after 1 repeat of pattern – knit M.7 again, at the same time dec 3 sts evenly on 1st row = 143 sts. After M.7 knit M.5 from the right side: M.5A (= 3 sts), M.5B over the next 120 sts and M.5C (= 4 sts). Continue the pattern like this until piece measures approx 84 cm - adjust after 1 repeat of pattern. Knit 2 rows garter sts and cast off loosely from the wrong side. Note! To ensure the edge doesn’t become too tight make a yo after every 8th st whilst casting off – cast off yo’s as sts. |
