NOTE: This pattern is written in British English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inches - click here. Knitting Tension: 10 sts x 12 rows on needles size 9 mm in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm.

Garter stitch: 1st row: K, 2nd row: K

Back and front piece: Knit back and front in one piece from right front (= cast-on edge) to left front (= cast-off edge) – see photo.
Cast on 74-77-80-83-86 sts (inclusive of 3 front edge sts each side – all edge sts are knitted in garter st) on needles size 9 in Vienna and knit 6 rows garter sts. Continue in stocking sts. When piece measures 26-27-28-29-30 cm, knit next row as follows from the right side: K 14-15-16-16-17 sts, cast off the following 19-20-21-22-23 sts loosely for armhole, K 41-42-43-45-46 sts. Now knit 3 rows on both sides of the armhole (remember 3 sts each side in garter). Knit next row as follows from the right side: 14-15-16-16-17 sts, cast on 19-20-21-22-23 new sts loosely, K 41-42-43-45-46 sts. Continue in stocking sts until piece measures 62-65-68-71-74 cm (remember 3 sts each side in garter). Knit next row as follows from the right side: K 14-15-16-16-17 sts, cast off 19-20-21-22-23 sts loosely for armhole, K 41-42-43-45-46 sts. Now knit 3 rows on both sides of the armhole. Knit next row as follows from the right side: 14-15-16-16-17 sts, cast on 19-20-21-22-23 new sts loosely, K 41-42-43-45-46 sts. Continue in stocking sts until piece measures 87-91-95-99-103 (remember 3 sts each side in garter). Knit 6 rows in garter sts and cast off loosely.

Sleeve: Cast on 28-30-20-32-32 sts (inclusive of 1 seam st each side) on needles size 9 in Vienna. Knit 6 rows in garter sts and continue in stocking sts. When piece measures 20-20-28-28-28 cm inc 1 st each side on every 6-6-5-5-4- cm a total of 6-6-7-7-8 times = 40-42-44-46-48 sts. When piece measures 52-52-50-50-49 cm cast off for sleeve cap at each side on every other row: 3sts 1 time. Continue to cast off 2 sts each side until piece measures 55cm. Then cast off each side 3 sts 1 time. Cast off remaining sts when piece measures approx 57 cm.

Assembly:
Sew sleeve seams within 1 edge st. Set in sleeves.
