Gauge: 10 sts x 14 rows in Pattern on larger needles = 10 x 10 cm

Pattern: * 2 rows garter st Vivaldi, 2 rows garter st Silke-Tweed *, repeat from * - *.

Rib: * K 4 , P 4 *, repeat from * - *.

Knitting tips (for raglan shaping):
All decs are made on right side. Dec 1 st as follows: Before the marker: K 2 tog.
After the marker: Slip 1 as if to knit, K 1, psso.

Cardigan: Cast on 72-80-88-100-112 sts on smaller circular needles with 2 strands Silke-Tweed. Take away 1 strand and change to larger circular needles. K 1 row from wrong side, then knit pattern – see instructions above – to finished measurements.
Put a marker 18-20-22-25-28 sts in from each edge to mark sides.
When the piece measures 6 and 10 cm dec 1 st each side of each marker = 64-72-80-92-104 sts.
When the piece measures 14 cm inc 1 st each side of each marker every 3 cm a total of 5 times = 84-92-100-112-124 sts.
When the piece measures 29-30-31-32-33 cm bind off 4 sts loosely at each side for armhole (2 sts each side of each marker) = 38-42-46-52-58 sts on back and 19-21-23-26-29 sts each front. Lay piece aside and knit the sleeves.

Sleeve: Cast on 34-34-34-42-42 sts on smaller needles with 2 strands Silke-Tweed. Knit 2 rows garter st (row 1 = wrong side), then knit rib, keeping 1 edge st at each side in garter st, for 13 cm.
Then K 1 row knit from right side and 1 row from wrong side. Change to larger needles and take away 1 strand of yarn. Continue with pattern to finished measurements, decreasing 8-8-6-12-10 sts evenly distributed on the first row = 26-26-28-30-32 sts. When the piece measures 20 cm inc 1 st at each side every 4-3-3-2.5-2.5 cm a total of 6-7-7-7-7 times = 38-40-42-44-46 sts.
When sleeve measures 44-42-41-39-38 cm bind off 3 sts at each side = 32-34-36-38-40 sts remain. Lay piece aside and knit second sleeve.

Yoke: Put the sleeves in on the same circular needles as Body where you bound off for armholes = 140-152-164-180-196 sts. Put a marker in each transition between the sleeves and Body.
Read the entire section before knitting:
Dec at markers every other row – see knitting tips:
On fronts and back: 1 st 3-4-5-7-9 times.
At each side of sleeves: 1 st 8-9-10-11-12 times. 16 sts remain on each sleeve, bind off.
Knit fronts and back separately.
When the piece measures 38-40-42-44-46 cm (at center front) bind off for the neck every other row: 5 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 2 times.

Front: After all armhole and neck shaping is complete 7-8-9-10-11 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 48-50-52-54-56 cm.

Back: = 32-34-36-38-40 sts. When the piece measures 46-48-50-52-54 cm bind off the center 16 sts for the neck. On the next row dec 1 st at each neck edge = 7-8-9-10-11 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 48-50-52-54-56 cm.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew sleeve into armhole with Vivaldi. Sew sleeve seams using edge sts as seam allowance.
Left button band: Pick up 57 or 65 sts (divisible by 8 + 1) along left front edge on smaller needles with 2 strands Silke-Tweed. K 1 row from wrong side and K 1 row from right side. Continue with rib as follows: (you are starting at bottom edge and the 1st row = wrong side): K 4 (edge sts knit in garter st), * P 4, K 4 *, repeat from * - *, end with P 4 and K 1 (edge st knit in garter st). Knit 5 or 7 rows rib (depending on how wide you want the buttonbands), then K 1 row from right side and K 1 row from wrong side, then K and bind off.
Right button band: Knit the same as the left, but 2 rows before binding off, make 6 buttonhole evenly distributed. The bottom buttonhole should be 2 cm from lower edge and the top one 1 cm from top edge. 1 buttonhole = K 2 tog and yo.
Neckband: Pick up 70-80 sts around the neck (incl. over button bands) on smaller needles with 2 strands Silke-Tweed. K 1 row from wrong side and then K and bind off. Sew on buttons.
