Pattern instructions

Knitting Tension: 14 sts x 26 rows on needle size 4 mm in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm. M.1 = width approx 16 cm, M.2 = width approx 9.5 cm.
NB! If using Vienna, knitting tension 14 sts x 16 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Pattern: See diagram. 1 diagram = 1 repeat. Diagram shows the pattern from the RS.
Rib: *K2, P2*, repeat from *-*.
Vienna: Dec materials by approx 30%. Use needle size 5 and 6 mm.
Inc and dec as follows:
Alter every other row to every other and every 3rd row alternately.
Alter every 5th row to every 8th row
Alter every 4th and 5th row alternately to every 7th row.

Front piece: Cast on 82-86-90 sts (incl 1 edge st each side) on needle size 3 mm work 10 cm rib with 1 edge st each side. Change to needle size 4 mm and continue in pattern as follows, at the same time inc 18-20-20 sts evenly on first row = 100-106-110 sts: 1 edge st, 1-4-6 sts in reverse stocking st, 2 repeats of M.2, M.1, 2 repeats of M.2, 1-4-6 sts in reverse stocking st, 1 edge st. Remember your knitting tension. When piece measures 37-39-40 cm cast off for armhole each side on every other row: 2 sts 1-2-2 times, 1 st 2-2-3 times = 92-94-96 sts. When piece measures 56-58-60 cm cast off the middle 18-20-20 sts for neck and dec to shape the neckline on every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 2 times. Cast off when piece measures 62-64-66 cm

Back piece: Cast on and knit like front piece. When piece measures 60-62-64 cm cast off the middle 32-34-34 sts for neck and dec 2 sts on neckline on next row. Cast off remaining sts when piece measures 62-64-66 cm.

Sleeves: Cast on 34-34-34 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 3 mm and work 5 cm rib with 1 edge st each side. Change to needle size 4 mm, inc 6-6-10 sts evenly on row, and continue in pattern as follows: 1 edge st, 3-3-5 sts in reverse stocking st, 2 repeats of M.2, 3-3-5 sts in reverse stocking st, 1 edge st = 40-40-44 sts. At the same time after the rib inc 1 st each side inside edge st a total of 20-20-19 times on every 4th and 5th row alternately for size S + M and on every 5th row for size L = 80-80-82 sts. When piece measures 46-45-45 cm cast off for sleeve cap each side on every other row: 4 sts 7 times. Cast off, sleeve measures approx 52-51-51 cm.

Assembly: Join shoulders. Set in sleeves and sew sleeve and side seams. Pick up approx 56 sts round the neckline on double pointed needle size 3 mm and work 9 cm rib, cast off.
