Gauge: 20 sts x 26 rows on larger needles in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm .

Pattern: See charts. (1 chart = 1 repeat). The pattern is seen from the right side.

Rib: * K 1, P 1 *. Repeat from *-*.

Garter Stitch, when knitting flat: Knit all sts all rows.

Body: Numbers in ( ) = men's sizes. Cast on 192-200 (200-208) sts on smaller circular needles; join and place a marker at the join. Knit rib for 6 cm . Change to larger circular needles and knit 1 row (right side row), increasing 120-120 (120-144) sts evenly distributed on the 1st row = 312-320 (320-352) sts. Then establish pattern as follows: * 4-6 (6-2) sts of Pattern 1, 6-6 (6-7) repeats of Pattern 2, Pattern 3, 4-6 (6-2) sts of Pattern 1 * (place side marker), repeat from * - *. When the work measures 39-40 (41-43) cm , divide at sides for armholes and knit the rest of the front and back separately.

Front: = 156-160 (160-176) sts. Bind off at each side for armholes every other row: 1 st 0-2 (0-0) times = 156-156 (160-176) sts. When the work measures 43-45 (46-49) cm , divide into two pieces at the center for the zipper split and knit the rest of each part separately. Knit the edge st at each side of the split in garter st. Knit 2 rows in pattern, then inc 1 st at each edge. Continue to knit the 2 edge sts in garter st. When the work measures 60-62 (63-66) cm , bind off 14-15 (17-18) sts at each split edge for the neck. Bind off at each neck edge every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times, 1 st 3 times. Bind off when the work measures 66-68 (69-72) cm .

Back: = 156-160 (160-176) sts. Bind off for armholes as on the front = 156-156 (160-176) sts. When the work measures 64-66 (67-70) cm , bind off the center 42-44 (48-50) sts for the neck. Bind off 2 sts at each neck edge on the next row. Bind off when the work measures 66-68 (69-72) cm .

Sleeves: Cast on 48-52 (52-56) sts on smaller double pointed needles; join and place a marker at the join. Knit rib for 5 cm . Change to larger double pointed needles and knit 1 row, increasing 10-8 (8-6) sts evenly distributed on the row = 58-60 (60-62) sts. Then establish pattern as follows: 15-16 (16-17) sts of Pattern 1, Pattern 2, Pattern 3, 15-16 (16-17) sts of Pattern 1. After the rib, inc 1 st each side of marker 28-29 (29-30) times:
Sizes Women's S/M and Men's S/M+M/L: alternately every 3rd and 4th row
Size Women's M/L: every 3rd row
= 114-118 (118-122) sts. Knit the increased sts into Pattern 1 as you go along. When the work measures 46-45 (50-49) cm , bind off 2 sts each side of marker and knit the rest back and forth on the needles. Bind off for sleeve caps at each side every other row: 12-6 (12-13) sts 3-6 (3-3) times, bind off. The work measures approx. 49-50 (53-52) cm .

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx. 115-120 sts around the neck on needles and knit rib for 7 cm , but knit the 2 edge sts at the split in garter st. Fold the edge over double against the wrong side and sew, but make room for the fabric on the zipper at the center front. Sew on the sleeves and sew in the zipper.
