Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in British English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inches - click here. There are different terms for crocheting in British and American English. If this pattern includes crochet, click for "crochet terms" here. For this pattern in American English, please click here.
Crochet tension: 2 repeats in width and 1 repeat in height = 8.5 cm x 3.3 cm

Knitting tension: 23 stitches x 30 rows with needle size 3.5 mm and stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm

Pattern: See diagram (1 diagram = 1 repeat). The pattern is seen from the right side.

Back piece: Crochet 168 (192) chain stitches with hook size 3 mm and blue and work Pattern upwards. Remember the knitting tension. When you have worked 13 (14) repeats in height - the piece measures approx. 43 (46) cm, continue working only over the 10 (12) middle repeats. (= armholes in each side). Continue until you have worked 21 (22) repeats in height - the piece now measures approx. 69 (73) cm - work only the 3 (4) repeats in each side - the 4 middle repeats are not worked. You have now worked 22 (23) repeats in height and the piece measures approx. 72 (76) cm.

Right front piece: The back piece is worked first. Crochet 84 (96) chain stitches with hook size 3 mm and blue and work pattern upwards. When you have worked 13 (14) repeats in height - the piece measures approx. 43 (46) cm, continue only over the middle 5 (6) repeats in the right side (= armhole in left side). When you have 5 repeats left to work in height - the piece measures approx. 56 (59) cm, work the neck as follows: On the first row (= 1 repeat in height) do not work the outermost repeat in the right side and on the next row do not work the repeat which is now the outermost repeat in the right side - you have now “cast off” 2 repeats. Work to the same length as the back piece.

Left front piece: Work as for the right but in reverse.

Sleeve: Cast on 56 (58) stitches with double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and blue and work M.2 upwards at the same time as you increase mid under sleeve: 2 stitches x 38 (37) on S/M: Every 3rd round; on M/L: Alternately every 2nd and 3rd round = 132 (132) stitches. When the piece measures 42 (36) cm cast off 4 stitches mid under sleeve and finish working back and forth on needle. Continue casting of in each side for sleeve cap every 2nd row: 3 (2) stitches x 14 (19), cast off. The piece measures approx. 52 (49) cm.

Assembly: Sew the shoulder seams. Crochet a row of slip stitches in back of neck. Crochet a row of treble crochets along band and round neck with hook size 2.5 mm: approx. 130 - 140 stitches along band, approx. 150 around neck and approx. 130-140 along band and then along bottom edge of body. Then work an edge along band, round neck and along other band as follows: * 3 chain stitches, 1 treble crochet in first chain stitch, skip 2 treble crochets (stitches) and 1 double crochet in next treble crochet (stitch)* Repeat from *-*. Repeat this edge around bottom of sleeves. Sew on buttons. The outermost crochet edge is used for buttonholes.

= treble crochet (worked in chain space on 4th row and in stitch on 5th row)

What is chart M.2 for? I can't figure out what it is.

DROPS Design 29.01.2018 kl. 10:54:

Dear Mrs Meyers, Diagram M.2 is worked for sleeve (= sleeves are knitted in the round with double pointed needles size 3.5 mm). Happy knitting!

The english translations for the Diagrams for all Garnstudio patterns are included within the text of the Pattern itself. If you look in the text, you will find lines starting with an = sign. These are the translations, and they are given in the same vertical order as the chart symbols within the diagram.
