Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in American English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from inches to cm - click here. Gauge: 20 sts and 26 rows on larger needles in stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm [4»x4»].

Rib: * knit 1, purl 1 *. Repeat from * - *.

Body: Cast on 232 (252) sts on smaller circular needles. Join, being careful not to twist the sts. Place a marker at the join and purl 1 row, knit 1 row, purl one row. Change larger circular needles and knit in stockinette stitch. When the work measures 49 (52) cm [19.25" (20.5»)], knit the next row as follows: bind off 2 sts for armhole, knit 112 (122) sts for the front, bind off 4 sts for armhole, knit 112 (122) sts for the back, bind off 2 sts for armhole. Knit the rest of each part separately from this point.

Front: 112 (122) sts. Bind off for armholes every other row: 3 sts 2 (3) time, 2 sts 2 (2) times, 1 st 5 times. 82 (86) sts. When the work measures 54 (57) cm [21.25" (22.5»)], divide the front down the middle and bind off for V-neck every other row: 2 sts 2 (3) times, 1 st 6 (5) times, and every 4th row: 1 st 4 times and every 6th row: 1 st 1 time. Bind off when the work measures 74 (78) cm [29-1/8" (30.75")].

Back: 112 (122) sts. Bind off for armholes as on the front. 82 (86) sts remain. When the work measures 72 (76) cm [28-3/8" (29-7/8")], bind off the center 26 (28) sts for the back neck. Then bind off 2 sts on each side on the next row for the neck. Bind off when the work measures 74 (78) cm [29-1/8" (30.75")].

Sleeves: Cast on 46 (46) sts on smaller double pointed needles. Join, being careful not to twist the sts. Place a marker at the join and purl 1 row, knit 1 row, purl 1 row. Change to larger double pointed needles and knit in stockinette stitch. At the same time, when the work measures 6 cm [2-3/8"], inc 1 st on each side of the marker 27 (29) times.
Size S/M: alternately every 3rd and 4th row.
Size M/L: every 3rd row.
=100 (104) sts.
When the work measures 45 (43) cm [17.75" (16-7/8")], bind off 2 sts on each side of the marker and knit the rest back and forth on the needles. Then bind off on each side for sleeve caps every other row: 3 (2) sts 9 (11) times, 5 sts 2 (2) times. Bind off all sts. The work measures approximately 54 cm [21.25"].

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approximately 110-120 sts around the neck on smaller circular needles and knit rib back and forth on the needles from the middle front for 3 cm [1-1/8"]. Bind off all sts. Lay the right part over the left part and sew together the ends. Sew on the sleeves.
