Bon tricot!

Hi, thanks for quick answer and sorry for unclear question. For the size s/m beanie with size 5 needle for Drops Air, how many stitches do I need to cast?
06.02.2023 - 15:23DROPS Design answered:
Dear Minna, just make sure then that you have correct tension (adjusting needle size if required to get 17 sts in width x 22 rows in height in stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm) then just follow the pattern for the required size, . Happy knitting!

Hi, I want to knit this model with Drops Air yarn. Is the amount of loops still the same?
06.02.2023 - 14:45DROPS Design answered:
Dear Minna, calculate the total meterage of the shortest yarn (Merino extra fine) required for your size and divide it by 150 m (meterage for 1 ball Air) to get the number of balls Air required. Then make sure to get the correct tension. Happy knitting!

I would like to make this hat in pale grey. Could you suggest 2 yarn colours that would compliment each other in the merino and the kid silk? Many thanks.

Goedemorgen!

Knitted hat with cables in DROPS Merino Extra Fine and DROPS Kid-Silk. Work from bottom up.

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. KNITTING TIP: There are only knit stitches between cables, it can be difficult to see which stitches to work cable over. It might help to insert a marker thread between every repetition of A.1/A.2. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- HAT - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Hat is worked in the round on bottom up on circular needle, switch to double pointed needles when necessary. HAT: Cast on 96-100 stitches on circular needle size 4 mm with 1 strand DROPS Merino Extra Fine and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (2 strands). Work rib (knit 2/purl 2) in the round for 14 cm. Switch to circular needle size 5 mm. Work 1 round in stocking stitch and increase 24-32 stitches evenly = 120-132 stitches. Work 3 rounds in stocking stitch. Then work pattern A.1 over all stitches – read KNITTING TIP and REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Work A.1 until piece measures approx. 25-26 cm from cast-on edge (approx. 8 cm remain until finished measurements) - adjust to finish after a whole repetition of A.1 vertically. Now work A.2 over every repetition of A.1. When A.2 has been worked, there are 20-22 stitches on round. Knit stitches together 2 by 2 the entire round = 10-11 stitches. Cut the yarn. Pull yarn through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten. Hat measures approx. 25-26 cm with 8 cm fold at the bottom. |
