Knitted pot holder in DROPS Muskat. Piece is worked with Nordic pattern. Theme: Christmas

Measurements: approx. 21 x 20 cm

For 2 pot holders:
Materials: DROPS MUSKAT from Garnstudio
100 g colour no 12, red
100 g colour no 18, white

DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE (40 cm) SIZE 3 mm –
or size needed to get 23 sts x 32 rows in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm.

PATTERN:
See diagram M.1. Work entire pattern in stocking st.

POT HOLDER:
Worked in the round on circular needle.
Cast on 96 sts on circular needle size 3 mm with red. P 1 round, K 1 round, P 1 round and K 1 round. Insert 1 marker in the first st at beg of round and 1 marker in the 49th st (= the sides). Continue in M.1 (48 sts) – repeat 2 times. Continue until M.1 has been knitted 1 time vertically. Now P 1 round, K 1 round and P 1 round with red. Then K 1 round, AT THE SAME TIME cast on 20 new sts at the end of round (with red). Turn piece, cast off the 20 new sts and cast off the remaining 96 sts from WS. Place pot holder flat with the markers at the sides. Sew the pot holder tog at the bottom with neat, little stitches – sew inside the cast on edge. Sew the pot holder tog at the top the same way – NOTE: The 20 new sts = loop, sew the end of the loop to the corner of the pot holder.

Knit another pot holder but switch the colours so that the pattern colour is red and the base colour is white.
