KNITTING TENSION:
26 stitches in width and 32 rows vertically in stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm.
NEEDLES:
DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 2.5 mm
DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE SIZE 2.5 mm: Length 40 cm.
Needle size is only a suggestion! If you have too many stitches on 10 cm switch to a larger needle size. If you have too few stitches on 10 cm switch to a smaller needle size.

START THE PIECE HERE:

HAT - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
Worked in the round on circular needle. When decreasing stitches, switch to double pointed needles when needed.
HAT:
Cast on 144-152-160 stitches on circular needle size 2.5 mm with Alpaca. Work rib in the round with knit 2/purl 2. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
Work rib until piece measures approx. 26-27-28 cm (or desired length, approx. 4 cm remain until finished measurements).
Now begin decrease at the top of hat, work as follows:
ROUND 1: * Knit 2, purl 2, knit 2, purl 2 together *, work from *-* the entire round = 126-133-140 stitches.
ROUND 2: * Knit 2, purl 2, knit 2, purl 1 *, work from *-* the rest of round.
ROUND 3: * Knit 2, purl 2, knit 2, purl 1 *, work from *-* the rest of round.
ROUND 4: * Knit 2, purl 2 together, knit 2 and purl 1 *, work from *-* the entire round = 108-114-120 stitches.
ROUND 5: * Knit 2, purl 1 *, repeat from *-* the entire round.
ROUND 6: * Knit 2, purl 1, knit 2 together, purl 1 *, work from *-* the entire round = 90-95-100 stitches.
ROUND 7: * Knit 2, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1 *, work from *-* the rest of round.
ROUND 8: * Knit 2 together, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1 *, work from *-* the entire round = 72-76-80 stitches.
ROUND 9: * Knit 1, purl 1 *, repeat from *-* the entire round.
ROUND 10: * Knit 2, knit 2 together *, work from *-* the entire round = 54-57-60 stitches.
ROUND 11: * Knit 2 together, knit 1 *, work from *-* the entire round = 36-38-40 stitches.
ROUND 12: Knit stitches together 2 by 2 the entire round= 18-19-20 stitches.
ROUND 13: Knit 0-1-0, then knit stitches together then 2 by 2 the entire round= 9-10-10 stitches.
Cut the yarn. Use a needle to thread the yarn through the last stitches a couple of times. Tighten tog and fasten the yarn tightly. Hat measures approx. 30-31-32 cm. Fold the edge twice towards the right side approx. 2½ each time. Hat measures approx. 25-26-27 cm with fold.
