CROCHET TENSION:
28 treble crochets in width and 16 rows in height = 10 x 10 cm.

CROCHET HOOK:
DROPS CROCHET HOOK SIZE 2.5 MM.
Hook size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger hook size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller hook size.

CROCHET TIP FOR CHAIN STITCH:
If you work outermost on the hook the chain stitch will often be too tight; 1 chain stitch should be as long as 1 double crochet/treble crochet is wide.

CROCHET INFORMATION:
At the beginning of each row of treble crochets work 3 chain stitches, which replace the first treble crochet; i.e. skip the first treble crochet on the previous row.

INCREASE TIP:
Increase 2 treble crochets by working 3 treble crochets in the stitch with the marker thread.

FLOWER:
Work 2 treble crochets in the next double crochet; these 2 treble crochets are worked in the round and will be referred to as treble crochet-1 (first worked) and treble crochet-2 (last worked).
NOTE! The piece is rotated when worked, as follows: * Work 2 chain stitches, 2 treble crochets around treble crochet-2, work 2 chain stitches and 1 slip stitch around treble crochet-2 *, work from *-* a total of 3 times = 3 petals worked around treble crochet-2. ** Work 2 chain stitches, 2 treble crochets around treble crochet-1, 2 chain stitches and 1 slip stitch around treble crochet-1 **, work from **-** 2 times and work 1 chain stitch = 2 petals worked around treble crochet-1. You have worked a total of 5 petals and the flower is finished. Fold the flower towards you so you can continue working the other stitches on the row.

BIKINI TOP:

CUP:
Using crochet hook size 2.5 mm and Safran, work 39-49-59 chain stitches – read CROCHET TIP FOR CHAIN STITCH in the explanations above.
Work 1 treble crochet in the 4th chain stitch from the hook – read CROCHET INFORMATION in explanations above, then 1 treble crochet in each chain stitch to the end of the row = 37-47-57 treble crochets (including the 3 chain stitches which replace the first treble crochet).
Insert 1 marker in the middle treble crochet and allow the marker to follow your work onwards.
Continue with 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet – AT THE SAME TIME as you increase 2 treble crochets in the middle of the piece on the next 4-4-5 rows – read INCREASE TIP = 45-55-65 treble crochets.
Work 1 row with 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet.
Work 1 row where you skip the middle treble crochet = 44-54-64 treble crochets. Piece now measures approx.. 4½-4½-5 cm from cast on edge.
Continue by decreasing on each row by skipping 2 middle treble crochets. Continue to decrease like this until there are 4 treble crochets left on the row. The piece now measures approx. 17-20-24 cm from cast on edge.
Now work a tie over these 4 treble crochets, working 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet on each row until the tie measures approx. 40 cm. Cut the strand.

Work 1 more cup in the same way.

CROCHET TOGETHER:
Use crochet hook size 2.5 mm and Safran.
ROW 1: Work 90-100-110 chain stitches for the tie on the one side, pick up one cup and work 1 double crochet underneath each treble crochet from the first row (= 37-47-57 stitches). Work 1 chain stitch and pick up the other cup and work 1 double crochet underneath each treble crochet from the first row (= 37-47-57 stitches), then 90-100-110 chain stitches for the tie on the other side. Turn the piece.
ROW 2: Work 1 chain stitch (does not replace first double crochet), work 1 double crochet in each chain stitch on the tie, work 1 double crochet in each double crochet on the first cup, then 1 double crochet in the chain stitch between the cups. Work 1 double crochet in each double crochet on the other cup and 1 double crochet in each chain stitch on the tie. Insert 1 marker thread on each side of the cups, with a total of 65-81-97 stitches between the markers; count so you have 32-40-48 stitches on each side of the stitch between the cups – you will then get a flower in the middle stitch.
ROW 3: Work 1 treble crochet in each double crochet as far as the marker thread, * work 1 FLOWER in the next double crochet – read description above, work 1 treble crochet in each of the next 7 double crochets *, work from *-* a total of 9-11-13 times and work 1 treble crochet in each double crochet to the end of the row. Cut and fasten the strand.
